Non-isothermal pyrolysis and kinetics of oil shales
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (1999-01-01)
In this research, non-isothermal pyrolysis behavior and kinetics of three oil shales were studied by thermal analysis methods. All the thermal effects were endothermic and no exothermic region was observed in DSC curves. When oil shales are heated in nitrogen atmosphere in TG/DTG, two different mechanisms causing loss of mass were observed. The region between ambient temperature and 500 K was distillation. The second mechanism was visbreaking and cracking and it was observed between the region 500 and 800 K...
Non-equilibrium molecular dynamics of electromigration in aluminum and its alloys
Şen, Fatih Gürçağ; Aydınol, Mehmet Kadri; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2006)
With constant miniaturization of integrated circuits, the current densities experienced in interconnects in electronic circuits has been multiplied. Aluminum, which is widely used as an interconnect material, has fast diffusion kinetics under low temperatures. Unfortunately, the combination of high current density and fast diffusion at low temperatures causes the circuit to fail by electromigration (EM), which is the mass transport of atoms due to the momentum transfer between conducting electrons and diffu...
Non-Einsteinian black holes in generic 3D gravity theories
Gürses, Metin; Şisman, Tahsin Çağrı; Tekin, Bayram (AMER PHYSICAL SOC, ONE PHYSICS ELLIPSE, COLLEGE PK, MD 20740-3844 USA, 2019-09-21)
The Banados-Teitelboim-Zanelli (BTZ) black hole metric solves the three-dimensional Einstein's theory with a negative cosmological constant as well as all the generic higher derivative gravity theories based on the metric; as such it is a universal solution. Here, we find, in all generic higher derivative gravity theories, new universal non-Einsteinian solutions obtained as Kerr-Schild type deformations of the BTZ black hole. Among these, the deformed nonextremal BTZ black hole loses its event horizon while...
