CONVERGENCE OF THE FAST DECOUPLED LOAD FLOW FOR SYSTEMS WITH HEAVY REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATION
Sevaioğlu, Osman (Elsevier BV, 1992-11-01)
This paper presents an alternative formulation for the shunt elements in the fast decoupled load flow equations to improve the convergence performance of the algorithm for systems operating under heavy reactive power compensation conditions. The formulation proposes a sign change for the diagonal terms corresponding to the contribution of the capacitive shunt elements while calculating the load flow matrices. A spectral analysis has been carried out to examine the convergence performance of the algorithm wi...
CONVERGENCE AND DIVERGENCE IN THE STATUS OF MOSLEM WOMEN - THE CASES OF TURKEY AND SAUDI-ARABIA
ERTURK, Y (SAGE Publications, 1991-09-01)
The theoretical concern underlying this article is to explore the possibilities of developing an alternative perspective to overcome the inadequacies of both universal (but ethnocentric) and relativist (but legitimising) accounts of culture-specific analysis. The problem addressed is the status of women in Turkey and Saudi Arabia - two Moslem societies representing significantly different models of national transformation. While the cultural and structural variability is illustrated, by focusing on such div...

Consistency of the Born approximation for the spin-1/2 Aharonov-Bohm scattering
Boz, M; Pak, Namık Kemal (2000-08-15)
The relativistic scattering of a spin-1/2 particle from an infinitely long solenoid is considered in the framework of covariant perturbation theory. The first order term agrees with the corresponding term in the series expansion of the exact amplitude, and second order term vanishes, thus proving that the Born approximation is consistent.
