The Challenges of Mentoring Pre-service Teachers of English in Turkey

Successful mentoring of TESOL teachers is a challenging job because it involves three parties (co-operating teachers, supervising teachers and student-teachers) and entails the successful interaction of each party with all the others. An additional, language-related challenge is faced by those being trained in a foreign or second language. The challenge is especially formidible in settings where the mentees have no direct contact with the target language.
