A new approach to unified performance analysis of randomly-spread CDMA systems over multipath fading channels via crosscorrelation matrix non-asymptotic average eigenvalue distributions
Ertug, O; Baykal, Buyurman; Sayrac, B (2003-09-10)
A new unified method for closed-form theoretical performance analysis of randomly-spread CDMA systems over multipath fading channels with multiuser receivers is presented. The basis of the analysis is the representation of the random signal-to-interference ratios (SIR) at finite system parameters in terms of the eigenvalues of the crosscorrelation matrices for which the non-asymptotic average distributions are found or known. The methodology presented complements the asymptotic limiting theory used in simil...
A new approach to multivariate adaptive regression splines by using Tikhonov regularization and continuous optimization
TAYLAN, PAKİZE; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Ozkurt, Fatma Yerlikaya (2010-12-01)
This paper introduces a model-based approach to the important data mining tool Multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS), which has originally been organized in a more model-free way. Indeed, MARS denotes a modern methodology from statistical learning which is important in both classification and regression, with an increasing number of applications in many areas of science, economy and technology. It is very useful for high-dimensional problems and shows a great promise for fitting nonlinear multivar...
A NEW METHOD FOR HARMONIC RESPONSE OF NONPROPORTIONALLY DAMPED STRUCTURES USING UNDAMPED MODAL DATA
Özgüven, Hasan Nevzat (Elsevier BV, 1987-09-08)
A method of calculating the receptances of a non-proportionally damped structure from the undamped modal data and the damping matrix of the system is presented. The method developed is an exact method. It gives exact results when exact undamped receptances are employed in the computation. Inaccuracies are due to the truncations made in the calculation of undamped receptances. Numerical examples, demonstrating the accuracy and speed of the method when truncated receptance series are used are also presented. ...
