Interrelation of vibrational spectra of Ag3Ga5Se9, Ag3Ga5Te9 and Ag3In5Te9 single crystals: A consequence of trivalent cation and anion substitutions
Hasanlı, Nızamı (2017-09-01)
Silver gallium (indium) ternary selenides (tellurides) single crystals were studied through infrared reflection in the frequency range of 80-500 cm(-1). These spectra presented four infrared-active modes for studied crystals. Spectral dependencies of optical constants were computed from reflectivity spectra. The frequencies of transverse and longitudinal optical modes, damping constants and oscillator strengths were also evaluated. By replacing light selenium anions by heavier tellurium ones in Ag3Ga5Se9 cr...
Interplay of transport mechanisms during the evaporation of a pinned sessile water droplet
Akdag, Osman; Akkuş, Yigit; Çetin, Barbaros; Dursunkaya, Zafer (2021-07-01)
Droplet evaporation has been intensively investigated in past decades owing to its emerging applications in diverse fields of science and technology. Yet the role of transport mechanisms has been the subject of a heated debate, especially the presence of Marangoni flow in water droplets. This work aims to draw a clear picture of the switching transport mechanisms inside a drying pinned sessile water droplet in both the presence and absence of thermocapillarity by developing a comprehensive model that accoun...
Interband transitions in gallium sulfide layered single crystals by ellipsometry measurements
IŞIK, MEHMET; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Turan, Raşit (2013-01-01)
Spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements on the GaS single crystals are presented in the energy range of 1.2 - 6.2 eV at room temperature. Optical constants; pseudorefractive index, pseudoextinction coefficient, real and imaginary parts of the pseudodielectric function were determined. Analysis of the second derivative of real and imaginary parts of the pseudodielectric constant revealed five transitions with critical point energies of 3.95, 4.22, 4.51, 4.75 and 5.50 eV. These energies were assigned to inter...
