A magnitude (Mw) 6.6 earthquake occurred on July 20, 2017 (22:31 UTC) in between Bodrum, Turkey and Kos Island, Greece. Field surveys are conducted in the region (Yalciner et al., 2017) including southern and northern coastlines of Bodrum peninsula, Karaada, Akyaka town and Kos Island. A tide gauge located in Bodrum main port recorded the tsunami. The main objectives of these field surveys are to document tsunami effects along the coast, to obtain the available data on the wave height and inundation extent,...

On September 28th, 2018, a powerful earthquake (M-w 7.5) struck the Island of Sulawesi in Indonesia. The earthquake was followed by a destructive and deadly tsunami that hit the Bay of Palu. A UNESCO international tsunami survey team responded to the disaster and surveyed 125km of coastline along the Palu Bay up to the earthquake epicentre region. The team performed 78 tsunami runup and inundation height measurements throughout the surveyed coastline. Measured values reached 9.1m for the runup height and 8....
The Bodrum-Kos strong (Mw6.6) earthquake and the associated tsunami of 20 July 2017: results of post-event field surveys

On 30 October 2020, a strong normal-faulting earthquake struck Samos Island in Greece and Izmir Province in Turkey, both in the eastern Aegean Sea. The earthquake generated a tsunami that hit the coasts of Samos Island, Greece and Izmir, Turkey. National teams performed two post-tsunami field surveys on 31 October to 1 November 2020, and 4-6 November 2020, along the Turkish coastline; while the former was a quick survey on the days following the tsunami, the latter involved more detailed measurement and inv...
The Samos Island (Aegean Sea) M7.0 earthquake: analysis and engineering implications of strong motion data

We present a dataset of 77 strong ground motion records within 200 km epicentral distance from the 30 October 2020, M7.0 Samos Island (Aegean Sea) earthquake, which affected Greece and Turkey. Accelerograms from National Networks of both countries have been merged into a single dataset, including metadata that have been uniformly derived using a common preliminary source model. Initial findings from the analysis and comparative examination of acceleration time histories, Fourier amplitude spectra and 5%-dam...
