NONLINEAR EVOLUTION OF LONG WAVES OVER A SLOPING BEACH
Kanoğlu, Utku (2004-06-12)
The initial value problem solution of the nonlinear shallow water–wave equations developed by Kânoğlu (2004) is applied to the benchmark problem — tsunami runup onto a plane beach — and results are compared. Comparisons with the benchmark solution produce identical results.

Radial excitations of the decuplet baryons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Sundu Pamuk, Hayriye (2017-04-10)
The ground and first excited states of the decuplet baryons are studied using the two-point QCD sum rule approach. The mass and residue of these states are computed and compared with the existing experimental data and other theoretical predictions. The results for the masses of the ground state particles as well as the excited Delta and Sigma* states are in good consistency with experimental data. Our results on the excited Xi* and Omega(-) states reveal that the experimentally poorly known Xi(1950) and Ome...
Long waves generation by atmospheric pressure disturbances and case study
Çabuk, Özge; Yalçıner, Ahmet Cevdet; Department of Civil Engineering (2019)
One of the interesting marine events is the long wave generation due to spatial and temporal changes of atmospheric pressure and wind fields during storm events. These kind of phenomena is called as storm surge and cause basin wide and local water level changes in sea surface and sometimes amplifies at some regions. There are examples of these kinds of event in all over the world. In this study the atmospheric pressure and wind fields are used as the input to the numerical model NAMI DANCE which solves Nonl...
Rapidity distributions in exclusive Z plus jet and gamma plus jet events in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (2013-12-01)
Rapidity distributions are presented for events containing either a Z boson or a photon with a single jet in proton-proton collisions produced at the CERN LHC. The data, collected with the CMS detector at root s = 7 TeV, correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1). The individual rapidity distributions of the boson and the jet are consistent within 5% with expectations from perturbative QCD. However, QCD predictions for the sum and the difference in rapidities of the two final-state objects show di...
