Stability of a recombinant plasmid carrying alpha-amylase gene in Bacillus subtilis
Gültekin, Güzin Candan; Bayındırlı, Alev (1998-03-01)
Plasmid pSB6 is a streptococcal recombinant plasmid carrying the alpha-amylase gene of Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and the chloramphenicol resistance gene. The segregational and structural instabilities of this plasmid were examined under non-selective conditions in Bacillus subtilis. These instabilities were modelled according to a kinetic expression derived from the difference in the growth between plasmid-bearing and plasmid-free cells. This plasmid showed slight segregational instability and much higher ...
Stability of alpha-amylase immobilized on poly(methyl methacrylate-acrylic acid) microspheres
Aksoy, S; Tumturk, H; Hasırcı, Nesrin (1998-02-05)
Poly(methyl methacrylate-acrylic acid) microspheres were prepared and the acid groups were activated by using either carbodiimide (CDI) or thionyl chloride (SOCl2). alpha-Amylase was covalently bound on these activated microspheres. The properties of the immobilized enzyme vv ere investigated and compared with those of the free enzyme. The relative activities were found to be 80.4 and 67.5% for carbodiimide and thionyl chloride bound enzymes, respectively. Maximum activities were obtained at lower pHs and h...
STABILITY AND STORAGE-CONDITIONS OF NADH-CYTOCHROME B5 REDUCTASE CROSS-LINKED INTO GELATIN BY CHROMIUM(III) ACETATE
Yıldırım, Onur; Akbulut, Ural (Elsevier BV, 1994-06-01)
NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase was isolated and partially purified from rabbit liver microsomes. It was immobilized into gelatin by chemical cross-linking. Chromium (III) acetate was used as cross-linker. The effects of pH and temperature on the immobilized cytochrome b5 reductase were investigated. The reusability and storage stability of immobilized enzyme were also tested. Immobilized NADH-cytochrome b5 reductase activities were found to be stable for at least 72 d and 24 uses. The storage stability of NAD...
Stability of (1(1)over-bar-00) m-plane GaN films grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition
İmer, Muhsine Bilge; Cravens, Michael D.; Speck, James S.; DenBaars, Steven P. (IOP Publishing, 2006-11-01)
We show the stability of planar nonpolar (1 (1) over bar 00) m-plane GaN thin films grown on m-plane 6H-SiC substrates using an AlN nucleation layer (NL) by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD). The stability of the m-plane GaN films was studied for a wide range of growth variables including reactor pressure, temperature, and group III and V flow rates. The surface morphology and crystal quality of the m-plane GaN films were less sensitive to changes in these growth variables than those of nonpola...
Stability of nanosized oxides in ferrite under extremely high dose self ion irradiations
Aydoğan Güngör, Eda; Odette, G. R.; Maloy, S. A.; Anderoglu, O.; Shao, L.; Gigax, J. G.; Price, L.; Chen, D.; Chen, T.; Garner, F. A.; Wu, Y.; Wells, P.; Lewandowski, J. J.; Hoelzer, D. T. (2017-04-01)
A nanostructured ferritic alloy (NFA), 14YWT, was produced in the form of thin walled tubing. The stability of the nano-oxides (NOs) was determined under 3.5 MeV Fe+2 irradiations up to a dose of similar to 585 dpa at 450 C-circle. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and atom probe tomography (APT) show that severe ion irradiation results in a similar to 25% reduction in size between the unirradiated and irradiated case at 270 dpa while no further reduction within the experimental error was seen at highe...
