SERS-based ultrafast and sensitive detection of luteinizing hormone in human serum using a passive microchip

Human luteinizing hormone (LH) is an important analyte for doping control analysis since it increases the athletic performance. However, traditional methods to detect LH have few disadvantages, such as long analysis duration, waste disposal problem and sample matrix effect. Addressing these problems, surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy based LH analysis using a passive microfluidic chip was developed and optimized. Antibody modified magnetic gold nanoparticles captured the LH and then, 4-aminothiophenol (4-...
NICS evaluation for Cope rearrangements of cis-1,2-divinylcyclopropane and cis-1,2-divinylcyclobutane
Zora, Metin (Elsevier BV, 2004-07-26)
Aromaticity of transition structures for Cope rearrangements of cis-1,2-divinylcyclopropane and cis-1,2-divinylcyclobutane is evaluated on the basis of GIAO-HF/6-31 + G*//B3LYP/6-31G* calculated NICS values.
SENS-PERCEPTOR - IMAGE-BASED EVIDENCE FORMATION MODULE AS A LOGICAL SENSOR FOR ROBOT HAND PRESHAPING
Nazlıbilek, Sedat; Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Erkmen, İsmet (1993-08-27)
The authors attempt to develop and implement a system executing a type of action according to a decision based imperfectly sensed and processed input data from multiple sensors. The system consists of three main modules, namely the "Sens-Perceptor" module (SP), the Fractal Inference Network (FIN), and the Neuro Controller (NC). Inputs to the Sens-Perceptor are the images sensed in an environment. In an implementation, these images are those of objects contained in the robot hand workspace. The objects consi...
XPS measurements for probing dynamics of charging
Suzer, Sefik; Sezen, Hikmet; Ertaş, Gülay; Dana, Aykutlu (2010-01-01)
The technique of recording X-ray photoemission data while the sample rod is subjected to +/- 10.0V (dc) or square-wave pulses (ac) with varying frequencies in the range of 10(-3) to 10(3) HZ for probing charging/discharging dynamics of dielectric materials, is reviewed. Application of this technique introduces charging shifts as well as broadening of the peaks, which depend non-linearly on the polarity, as well as on the frequency of the pulses applied. These changes have been measured on: (i) an artificial...
CMS hadronic forward calorimeter
Merlo, JP (1998-02-01)
Tests of quartz fiber prototypes, based on the detection of Cherenkov light from showering particles, demonstrate a detector possessing all of the desirable characteristics for a forward calorimeter. A prototype for the CMS experiment consists of 0.3 mm diameter fibers embedded in a copper matrix. The response to high energy (10-375 GeV) electrons, pions, protons and muons, the light yield, energy and position resolutions, and signal uniformity and Linearity, are discussed.
