Surface Reconstruction from Multiple Images Filtering Non Lambert Regions
BÜYÜATALAY, Soner; BİRGÜL, ÖZLEM; Halıcı, Uğur (2009-09-10)
In this study a new algorithm for 3D surface reconstruction from multiple images using a modified photometric stereo method is proposed and tested. The new algorithm, Filtered Lambert Photometric Stereo (FLPS), determines the non-Lambert pixels in the available images using a linearity test and constructs filtering masks for each image that corresponds to specular and self or cast shadow regions. Then, the photometric stereo is applied after eliminating the points in these masks. Tests carried out on synthe...

Surface preparation passivation and patterning techniques used in silicon based heterojunction solar cells
Dönerçark, Ergi; Turan, Raşit; Department of Physics (2017)
For silicon Heterojunction (SHJ) solar cell technology features, a thin intrinsic hydrogenated amorphous silicon (i a-Si:H) layer has inserted between the crystalline silicon and doped amorphous silicon. The state of the art SHJ solar cell structure involves low temperature depositions of a-Si:H layer by means of Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) technique. Recent developments on SHJ solar cells have been focused on increasing the passivation quality of a-Si:H layer and the formation of all ...
Surface coverage control of self organized plasmonic nanostructures at interfaces of photovoltaics related materials
Birant, Gizem; Bek, Alpan; Taşgın, Mehmet Emre; Department of Physics (2017)
In this thesis, it has been demonstrated that light management in photovoltaic devices might be achieved via plasmonic interfaces. New strategies have been developed to achieve a 10% surface coverage ratio that is ideal for light management. First, metal nanoparticles are synthesized as colloidal solutions. Metal nanoparticles are preferred because when they are coated on the surface of the solar cell, they increase the optical path length of the light in the cell via interacting and scattering the incident...
