The Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) in 2018–2019
Dengler, Juergen; Aleksanyan, Alla; Ambarlı, Didem; Biurrun, Idoia; Dembicz, Iwona; Kuzemko, Anna; Török, Péter; Venn, Stephen; Vrahnakis, Michael (2019-12-01)
This report summarises the activities and achievements of the Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) from January 2018 through July 2019. During the reported period, two Eurasian Grassland Conference (EGCs) took place: the 15th EGC in Sulmona, Italy, and the 16th EGC in Graz, Austria. The 11th and 12th EDGG Field Workshops studied vegetation diversity patterns in the inner alpine valleys of Austria and Switzerland, while the 13th Field Workshop was organised in Armenia. The formerly electronic newsletter of ED...
The Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) in 2016–2017
Venn, Stephen; Ambarlı, Didem; Biurrun, Idoia; Dengler, Juergen; Kuzemko, Anna; Török, Péter; Vrahnakis, Michael (2018-02-01)
This report summarizes the activities and achievements of the Eurasian Dry Grassland Group (EDGG) from mid-2016 through to the end of 2017. During this period, the 13th Eurasian Grassland Conference took place in Sighişoara, Romania, and the 14th conference was held in Riga, Latvia. The 10th EDGG Field Workshop on Biodiversity patterns across a precipitation gradient in the Central Apennine mountains was conducted in the Central Apennines, Italy, this time in addition to multi-scale sampling of vascular pla...
The southern Menderes Massif (western Turkey): geochronology and exhumation history
Bozkurt, Erdin (Wiley, 2000-07-01)
In the southern flank of the Menderes Massif, western Turkey, an E-W-trending quartz-mica vein was recognized in the augen gneisses of the so-called 'core' series. Rb-Sr determinations of two undeformed or slightly deformed mica books from the vein yielded Palaeocene-Early Eocene ages (c. 62-43 Ma) for the vein formation. The new data are interpreted to closely post-date the time of major Barrovian-type High Temperature/Medium pressure (HT/MP) main Menderes metamorphism (MMM) and coeval crustal-scale top-to...

The genus Lepidorbitoides evolution and its stratigraphic significance in some Anatolian basins Turkey
ÖZCAN, ERCAN; Altıner, Sevinç (Elsevier BV, 1999-01-01)
Evolution of Lepidorbitoides in some flysch basins of Anatolia has been investigated considering the early ontogenesis in horizontal sections. Different developmental states of L. pembergeri, L. campaniensis, L. bisambergensis, L. minor and L. socialis have been described and illustrated with their morphometric features based on the earliest chamber arrangement. A correlation scheme of phylogenetic developmental states of Lepidorbitoides to the planktonic foraminiferal zones is also proposed. Populations wi...
