Geochemical Evolution of Miocene Volcanism in Western Anatolia, Turkey Related to Orogenic Collapse
Aldanmaz, Ercan; Pickard, M; Hanan, Bb; Furman, T; Kürkcüoğlu, Biltan; Sayıt, Kaan (2009-12-14)
Geochemistry and Tectonic Implications of Leucogranites and Tourmalines of the Southern Menderes Massif, Southwest Turkey
Bozkurt, Erdin; Mittwede, Steven K.; Ottley, Christopher J. (Informa UK Limited, 2006-10)
Granitoid rocks of the southern Menderes Massif, SW Turkey include widespread possibly Ediacaran high-grade granitic orthogneisses and younger (Tertiary) sheets, sills and/or dikes of variably deformed tourmaline-bearing leucogranites. The latter are confined to the immediate footwall of the regional-scale ductile southern Menderes shear zone. Although both sets of granitoid rocks are essentially calc-alkaline and peraluminous, the syn- to post-collisional tourmaline-bearing leucogranites are chemically dis...
Geochemistry and petrogenesis of the oceanic island and subduction-related assemblages from the palaeotethyan Karakaya subduction/accretion complex, central and nw Turkey
Sayıt, Kaan; Göncüoğlu, Mehmet Cemal; Department of Geological Engineering (2010)
The Nilüfer Unit of the Karakaya Complex at the pre-Liassic basement of the Sakarya Composite Terrane is composed mainly of metabasaltic lithologies with limestones, and minor cherts and mudstones. These metabasic assemblages show OIB- and E-MORB-type geochemical signatures with variable enrichment in the most incompatible elements relative to N-MORB. The Eymir Unit consists of variably deformed metaclastics, and constitutes the matrix in which the Nilüfer-type blocks are embedded. In the Ankara region, the...
