In this study, two graphical user interface (GUI) based drillhole database applications, compiled by the authors, are introduced. The first executable applet is developed to automatically interpolate and calculate between survey stations in directional drillholes. In order to determine borehole position, Minimum Curvature Method (MCM) is assumed as the mathematical model. By employing measured depth, dip, and azimuth as input parameters, output parameters are obtained such as Dogleg Severity (DLS) and the 3D coordinates; northing, easting, and true vertical depth. Also, graphical output of the drillhole path is produced. Second applet is the downhole compositing tool. This application starts with 3D drillhole database import and validation. Raw and sample length statistics are given in detail by the program and users are able to create composites with desired length and minimum sample coverage percentage. Composite coordinates and values can be exported in ASCII or MS Excel .csv formats. Detailed composite statistics can further be reported.

Flexible Content Extraction and Querying for Videos
Demir, Utku; KOYUNCU, Murat; Yazıcı, Adnan; Yilmaz, Turgay; SERT, MUSTAFA (2011-10-28)
In this study, a multimedia database system which includes a semantic content extractor, a high-dimensional index structure and an intelligent fuzzy object-oriented database component is proposed. The proposed system is realized by following a component-oriented approach. It supports different flexible query capabilities for the requirements of video users, which is the main focus of this paper. The query performance of the system (including automatic semantic content extraction) is tested and analyzed in t...
MetaLabelNet: Learning to Generate Soft-Labels From Noisy-Labels
Algan, Gorkem; Ulusoy, İlkay (2022-01-01)
Real-world datasets commonly have noisy labels, which negatively affects the performance of deep neural networks (DNNs). In order to address this problem, we propose a label noise robust learning algorithm, in which the base classifier is trained on soft-labels that are produced according to a meta-objective. In each iteration, before conventional training, the meta-training loop updates soft-labels so that resulting gradients updates on the base classifier would yield minimum loss on meta-data. Soft-labels...
Interactive visual user interfaces: A survey
Murtagh, F; Taşkaya Temizel, Tuğba; Contreras, P; Mothe, J; Englmeier, K (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2003-06-01)
Following a short survey of input data types on which to construct interactive visual user interfaces, we report on a new and recent implementation taking concept hierarchies as input data. The visual user interfaces express domain ontologies which are based on these concept hierarchies. We detail a web-based implementation, and show examples of usage. An appendix surveys related systems, many of them commercial.
Performance-based parametric design explorations: A method for generating appropriate building components
Ercan, Burak; Elias Özkan, Soofia Tahira (2015-05-01)
Performance-based parametric design explorations depend on formulating custom-designed workflows that require reading, writing, interpreting and manipulating databases, as part of the design process. The possibilities of customization and parameterization offered by the user-friendly interfaces of advanced building-performance simulation software and digital design tools have now enabled architects to carry out performance-based design explorations without the help of simulation experts. This paper presents...
HyGraph: a subgraph isomorphism algorithm for efficiently querying big graph databases
Asiler, Merve; Yazıcı, Adnan; George, Roy (2022-04-01)
The big graph database provides strong modeling capabilities and efficient querying for complex applications. Subgraph isomorphism which finds exact matches of a query graph in the database efficiently, is a challenging problem. Current subgraph isomorphism approaches mostly are based on the pruning strategy proposed by Ullmann. These techniques have two significant drawbacks- first, they are unable to efficiently handle complex queries, and second, their implementations need the large indexes that require ...
