Recently, b-symbol codes are proposed to protect against b-symbol errors in b-symbol read channels. It is an interesting subject of study to consider the complete b-symbol weight distribution of cyclic codes since b-symbol metric is a generalization for Hamming metric. The complete b-symbol Hamming weight distribution of irreducible cyclic codes is known in only a few cases. In this paper, we give a complete b-symbol Hamming weight distribution of a class of irreducible cyclic codes with two nonzero b-symbol Hamming weights.

Geometric Approach to b-Symbol Hamming Weights of Cyclic Codes
Shi, Minjia; Özbudak, Ferruh; Sole, Patrick (2021-01-01)
IEEESymbol-pair codes were introduced by Cassuto and Blaum in 2010 to protect pair errors in symbol-pair read channels. Recently Yaakobi, Bruck and Siegel (2016) generalized this notion to b-symbol codes in order to consider consecutive b errors for a prescribed integer b ≥ 2, and they gave constructions and decoding algorithms. Cyclic codes were considered by various authors as candidates for symbol-pair codes and they established minimum distance bounds on (certain) cyclic codes. In this paper we u...
Multicast Beamforming with Antenna Selection Using Alternating Maximization
Demir, Özlem Tuğfe; Tuncer, Temel Engin (2015-05-19)
Multi-group multicast beamforming problem with antenna selection is considered in this paper. The rank one constraint which makes the problem nonconvex is embedded into the objective function using exact penalty function. The resulting problem has a bilinear objective function with convex constraints. The equivalent problem is solved iteratively using alternating maximization where a convex optimization problem is solved at each step. Using antenna selection with this effective approach further reduces the ...
Analysis of Frequency Domain Oversampled MMSE SC-FDE
Balevi, Eren; Yılmaz, Ali Özgür (2016-02-01)
Frequency domain oversampling (FDO) is investigated to improve the error performance of MMSE SC-FDE for multipath channels. The impact of FDO is analyzed in regard to the outage probability. The results show that FDO can significantly enhance the performance of MMSE SC-FDE when the ratio of block length to channel memory length is small such as in underwater acoustic channels. Its advantage is observed for moderate block length to channel memory length ratio for larger constellation sizes.
Downlink transmission techniques for multi user multi input multi output wireless communications
Coşkun, Adem; Candan, Çağatay; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2007)
Multi-user MIMO (MIMO-MU) communication techniques make use of available channel state information at the transmitter to mitigate the inter-user interference. The goal of these techniques is to provide the least interference at the mobile stations by applying a precoding operation. In this thesis a comparison of available techniques in the literature such as Channel Decomposition, SINR Balancing, Joint-MMSE optimization is presented. Novel techniques for the MIMO multi-user downlink communication systems, w...
Local left invertibility for operator tuples and noncommutative localizations
Dosiev, Anar (Cambridge University Press (CUP), 2009-01-01)
In the paper we propose an operator approach to the noncommutative Taylor localization problem based on the local left invertibility for operator tuples acting on a Frechet space. We prove that the canonical homomorphism U(g) -> O(g) of the universal enveloping algebra U(g) of a nilpotent Lie algebra g into its Arens-Michael envelope O(g) is the Taylor localization whenever g has normal growth.
