Structure of optimal policies in M/M/1 make-to-stock queues in the presence of partial control
Yenigün, Erkin; Savaşaneril Tüfekci, Seçil; Department of Industrial Engineering (2015)
We study the structure of optimal pricing and batch acceptance policies for M/M/1 make-to-stock queue systems under complete and partial control. We model the problems as Markov decision processes under average gain criteria. The goal is to analyze how an exogenous basestock level affects the structure of optimal policies for both problems. Analyses show that both optimal pricing policy and optimal batch acceptance policy under complete control possess a monotone structure. In addition, we show that under c...
Structure of the Xi(b)(6227)(-) resonance
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; SARAÇ OYMAK, YASEMİN; SUNDU PAMUK, HAYRİYE (2018-11-16)
We explore the recently observed Xi(b)(6227)(-) resonance to fix its quantum numbers. To this end, we consider various possible scenarios: It can be considered as either a 1P or 2S excitation of the Xi(b) and Xi'(b)(5935) ground-state baryons with spin-1/2 or the 1P or 2S excitation of the ground-state Xi(b)(5955) with spin-3/2. We calculate the masses of the possible angular-orbital 1P and 2S excited states corresponding to each channel employing the QCD sum rule technique. It is seen that all the obtained...
Frequency of Mainstream Curriculum Models: Investigation of Early Childhood Education Doctoral Dissertation and International Journals in Turkey
Demirtaş İlhan, Seden; Eryiğit, Sümeyra; Erden, Feyza (2019-06-24)
Problem Statement In general, early childhood education programs aim to provide both improvements in academic skills like language and literacy skills and math and science abilities and wellness in all domains of development for children (Pianta, Barnett, Justice, & Sheridan, 2012). Another goal of preschool education is defined by New and Cochran (2006) as providing a smooth transition from the home environment to primary school. In line with the aims of early childhood education, existing literature confi...
