Süreyya Yücel Özden

Süreyya Yücel Özden: Education METU and Imperial College, London, England . Professional Experience: - GAMA HOLDING A.Ş. Chief Executive Officer and - President of DEIK Energy Business Council. From 1963 to 1964 he worked at private engineering companies. Then, he served as research and construction engineer at Turkish General Directorate of Highways in 1964 – 1965. After two years of military service, he worked as Transportation Sector Expert, then as Sector Department Manager at Turkish State Planning Organization between 1967 and 1978. From 1978 to 1982 he was the Chairman and General Manager of TÜGSAŞ (Azot Sanayii T.A.Ş.), Chairman and General Manager of TEKEL in 1984 – 1990 and then Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Customs. He voluntarily left the State service in 1991. He worked at GAMA Endüstri A.Ş. at 1983 and between 1991-1993. In August 1997, he was appointed to the Undersecretary of Ministry of Transport. After three years of his duty, again he voluntarily left. In addition to public service for 28 years, he served as general manager and board member in the private sector in 1963-1964, 1982-1984 and 1991-1997 and 2001-1999. Besides, he lectured on Transportation Engineering as a part time instructor at Faculty of Architecture and Department of Civil Engineering at METU and directed "Thesis Studies" between 1970 and 1978. In 1989, he was elected to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as the No. 2 Subcommittee of the 126th Technical Committee, and he still maintains this duty. During 2003-2005, he served as General Secretary for 3 years, then as Chairman of the Board in 2005-2013 for 9 years at World Energy Council Turkish National Committee. He still works in the private sector (GAMA Holding A.Ş.). He serves to The Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and has undertaken the Presidency of DEIK Energy Business Council.He is married and father of a child.
