Within the scope of Visual Memory Project, which is an oral history study, interviews were made and recorded with people who had worked or had been a student in any field since the establishment of the Middle East Technical University. Thus, the accumulation of these people, which would otherwise be lost, is recorded and transferred to future generations. Before the interviews were conducted, a group was formed to prepare a long and comprehensive research on the chosen person. Within the scope of the project, documentaries that are consisted of long-term interviews with many important names of METU community, provide a rich and permanent source of METU's history. GISAM (Audiovisual Systems Research and Applications Center), to protect both METU’s and Turkey's university education system and heritage, publishes resources produced in the Visual Memory Project.
