The linear and nonlinear changes in the refractive index of a Poschl-Teller quantum well are studied. The Poschl-Teller potential can easily become asymmetric by a correct choice of its parameter set. We use this feature to investigate the intensity-dependent refractive index of a GaAs quantum well within the density matrix formalism. Numerical results reveal large values of linear and nonlinear changes in the refractive index. (C) 2006 American Institute of Physics.

Tuning Optical Absorption Edge by Composition and Temperature in TlGaS2xSe2((1-x)) Layered Mixed Crystals (0 <= x <= 1)
Hasanlı, Nızamı (Institute of Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences, 2012-10-01)
Optical properties of TlGaS2xSe2((1-x)) mixed crystals (0 <= x <= 1) have been studied using the transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm. The optical indirect band gap energies were determined through the analysis of the absorption data. It was found that the energy band gaps increase with increase of sulfur atoms content in TlGaS2xSe2(1-x) mixed crystals. From the transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10-300 K, the rates of change of the i...
Lepton polarization asymmetry in B -> iota(+)iota(-) decay beyond the standard model
Bashiry, V (IOP Publishing, 2005-09-01)
The lepton polarization asymmetry in the B -> l(+)l(-) decay, when one of the leptons is polarized, is investigated by using the most general form of the effective Hamiltonian. We find allowed regions for the new scalar Wilson coefficients, assuming that the experimental branching ratio is measured within 10% percent uncertainty. Then using these restrictions to the new coefficients the sensitivity of the lepton polarization asymmetry to them is studied. Moreover, it is observed that there are regions of te...
Approximate analytical solutions of the pseudospin symmetric Dirac equation for exponential-type potentials
Arda, Altu; Sever, Ramazan; TEZCAN, CEVDET (Wiley, 2009-10-01)
The solvability of The Dirac equation is studied for the exponential-type potentials with the pseudospin symmetry by using the parametric generalization of the Nikiforov-Uvarov method. The energy eigenvalue equation, and the corresponding Dirac spinors for Morse, Hulthen, and q-deformed Rosen-Morse potentials are obtained within the framework of an approximation to the spin-orbit coupling term, so the solutions are given for any value of the spin-orbit quantum number kappa = 0, or kappa not equal 0. Evidence for Collective Multiparticle Correlations in p-Pb Collisions
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (American Physical Society (APS), 2015-06-01)
The second-order azimuthal anisotropy Fourier harmonics, nu(2), are obtained in p-Pb and PbPb collisions over a wide pseudorapidity (.) range based on correlations among six or more charged particles. The p-Pb data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35 nb(-1), were collected during the 2013 LHC p-Pb run at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV by the CMS experiment. A sample of semiperipheral PbPb collision data at root S-NN = 2.76 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2...
Thermodynamic study on the magnetic transition and structural phase transition in [(CH3)(2)NH2][Na0.5Fe0.5(HCOO)(3)] by using the Landau phenomenological model
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (AIP Publishing, 2020-11-01)
In this study, we apply the Landau phenomenological model to describe magnetic transition and structural phase transition in a metal formate framework (MOF) of the ferromagnetic [(CH3)(2)NH2][Na0:5Fe0:5(HCOO)(3)], namely, DMNaFe. By using the observed data from the literature for the magnetization, the excess heat capacity (Delta CP), and the dielectric constant (e), we predict some thermodynamic quantities as a function of temperature close to the magnetic transition (T-M 1/4 8:5K) and structural (T-c 1/4 ...
