SEARCHING FOR NEW Z'-BOSONS AND LEPTOQUARKS AT FUTURE E+E--COLLIDERS

1989-08-20
A number of superstring theories predict the existence of an extra new Z′-boson and leptoquarks which may possess massess about 1–10 TeV. We investigate in detail possible manifestations of these particles in polarized e+e− beams on future colliders LEP II and CLIC. We calculate cross-sections and various asymmetries of the processes e+e−→µ+µ−, , ūu taking into account contributions of the Z′-boson and leptoquarks. It is shown that the measurement of the total cross-section σ(e+e−→µ+µ−) is the most sensitive parameter for the existence of Z′-bosons, and the forward-backward asymmetry AFB is that for the existence of leptoquarks.

Search for charmed pentaquarks in high energy anti-neutrino interactions
De Lellis, G.; Gueler, A. M.; Kawada, J.; Koese, U.; Sato, O.; Tramontano, F. (Elsevier BV, 2007-02-12)
The existence of a bound state of five quarks with (c) over bar content is still controversial. In this paper we focus on weakly decaying charmed pentaquarks and show how they can be searched for in high energy antineutrino interactions. By analyzing 2262 charged-current interactions with a muon of positive charge in the CHORUS detector, we performed a search for Theta(0)(c) production. Based on the null observation, the limit of Theta(0)(c) production is found as a function of different Theta(0)(c) lifetim...
Search for a pseudoscalar boson decaying into a Z boson and the 125 GeV Higgs boson in l(+)l(-)b(b)over-bar final states
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2015-09-01)
Results are reported on a search for decays of a pseudoscalar A boson into a Z boson and a light scalar h boson, where the Z boson decays into a pair of oppositely-charged electrons or muons, and the h boson decays into bb. The search is based on data from proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy root s = 8 TeV collected with the CMS detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The h boson is assumed to be the standard model-like Higgs boson with a mass of 125 GeV. With no ...
Search for a non-standard-model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of new light bosons in four-muon final states
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2013-11-01)
Results are reported from a search for non-standard-model Higgs boson decays to pairs of new light bosons, each of which decays into the mu(+)mu(-) final state. The new bosons may be produced either promptly or via a decay chain. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.3 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at root s = 7 TeV, recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC in 2011. Such Higgs boson decays are predicted in several scenarios of new physics, including supersymmetric models with exten...
Search for a heavy resonance decaying into a Z boson and a vector boson in the v(v)over-barq(q)over-bar final state
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-07-01)
A search is presented for a heavy resonance decaying into either a pair of Z bosons or a Z boson and a W boson (ZZ or WZ), with a Z boson decaying into a pair of neutrinos and the other boson decaying hadronically into two collimated quarks that are reconstructed as a highly energetic large-cone jet. The search is performed using the data collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC during 2016 in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosit...
Search for R-parity violating decays of a top squark in proton-proton collisions at root s=8TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2016-09-01)
The results of a search for a supersymmetric partner of the top quark (top squark), pair-produced in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV, are presented. The search, which focuses on R-parity violating, chargino-mediated decays of the top squark, is performed in final states with low missing transverse momentum, two oppositely charged electrons or muons, and at least five jets. The analysis uses a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1)collected with the CMS detector at th...
