We first reconstruct the conserved (Abbott-Deser) charges in the spin-connection formalism of gravity for asymptotically (Anti)-de Sitter spaces, and then compute the masses of the AdS soliton and the recently found Eguchi-Hanson solitons in generic odd dimensions, unlike the previous result obtained for only five dimensions. These solutions have negative masses compared to the global AdS or AdS/Z(p) spacetimes. As a separate note, we also compute the masses of the recent even dimensional Taub-NUT-Reissner-Nordstrom metrics.

Edge currents in non commutative Chern Simons theory from a new matrix model
BALACHANDRAN, Aiyalam P; GUPTA, Kumar S; Kürkcüoğlu, Seçkin (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2003-09-01)
This paper discusses the formulation of the non-commutative Chern-Simons (CS) theory where the spatial slice, an infinite strip, is a manifold with boundaries. As standard *-products are not correct for such manifolds, the standard non-commutative CS theory is not also appropriate here. Instead we formulate a new finite-dimensional matrix CS model as an approximation to the CS theory on the strip. A work which has points of contact with ours is due to Lizzi, Vitale and Zampini where the authors obtain a des...
Covariant symplectic structure and conserved charges of topologically massive gravity
Nazaroglu, Caner; Nutku, Yavuz; Tekin, Bayram (American Physical Society (APS), 2011-06-22)
We present the covariant symplectic structure of the Topologically Massive Gravity and find a compact expression for the conserved charges of generic spacetimes with Killing symmetries.
Scalar-meson production in nucleon-nucleon collisions near threshold
Rekalo, MP; Tomasi-Gustafsson, E (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2003-12-01)
We establish the model-independent spin structure of the matrix elements for the near-threshold scalar-meson production in pp and np collisions, when the final particles are emitted in S-state. Polarization phenomena are derived in a general form. The properties of the t-channel dynamics, which is based on different meson exchanges, are studied in terms of the s-channel parametrization of the matrix element. The predictions of a model, based on pi + sigma exchanges are also presented.
Strong coupling constants of decuplet baryons with vector mesons
Alıyev, Tahmasıb; Savcı, Mustafa (American Physical Society (APS), 2010-11-10)
We provide a comprehensive study of strong coupling constants of decuplet baryons with light nonet vector mesons in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules. Using the symmetry arguments, we argue that all coupling constants entering the calculations can be expressed in terms of only one invariant function even if the SU(3)(f) symmetry breaking effects are taken into account. We estimate the order of SU(3)(f) symmetry violations, which are automatically considered by the employed approach.
Universal extra dimensions and Kaluza-Klein bound states
Carone, CD; Conroy, JM; Sher, M; Turan, İsmail (American Physical Society (APS), 2004-04-01)
We study the bound states of the Kaluza-Klein (KK) excitations of quarks in certain models of universal extra dimensions. Such bound states may be detected at future lepton colliders in the cross section for the pair production of KK quarks near threshold. For typical values of model parameters, we find that "KK quarkonia" have widths in the 10-100 MeV range, and production cross sections of the order of a few picobarns for the lightest resonances. Two body decays of the constituent KK quarks lead to distin...
