Comment: On a recently proposed relation between oHS and Ito systems

1999-08-01
The bi-Hamiltonian structure of original Hirota-Satsuma system proposed by Roy [Phys. Lett. A 249 (1999) 55] based on a modification of the bi-Hamiltonian structure of Ito system is incorrect. (C) 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Painleve classification of coupled Korteweg-de Vries systems
Karasu, Emine Ayşe (1997-07-01)
In this work, we give a classification of coupled Korteweg-de Vries equations. We found new systems of equations that are completely integrable in the sense of Painleve. (C) 1997 American Institute of Physics.
Multi-symplectic integration of coupled non-linear Schrodinger system with soliton solutions
AYDIN, AYHAN; Karasözen, Bülent (2009-01-01)
Systems of coupled non-linear Schrodinger equations with soliton solutions are integrated using the six-point scheme which is equivalent to the multi-symplectic Preissman scheme. The numerical dispersion relations are studied for the linearized equation. Numerical results for elastic and inelastic soliton collisions are presented. Numerical experiments confirm the excellent conservation of energy, momentum and norm in long-term computations and their relations to the qualitative behaviour of the soliton sol...
Implementation of k-epsilon turbulence models in a two dimensional parallel navier-stokes solver on hybrid grids
Kalkan, Onur Ozan; Tuncer, İsmail Hakkı; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2014)
In this thesis, the popular k-ε turbulence model is implemented on a parallel, 2-dimensional, explicit, density-based, finite volume based Navier-Stokes solver works on hybrid grids, HYP2D. Among the other versions available in the open literature, standard version of the k-ε turbulence mode is studied. Launder-Spalding and Chieng-Launder wall functions are adapted to the turbulence model in order to investigate the effects of the strong gradients in the vicinity of the wall on the turbulence. In order to i...
Hilbert functions of gorenstein monomial curves
Topaloğlu Mete, Pınar; Arslan, Sefa Feza; Department of Mathematics (2005)
The aim of this thesis is to study the Hilbert function of a one-dimensional Gorenstein local ring of embedding dimension four in the case of monomial curves. We show that the Hilbert function is non-decreasing for some families of Gorenstein monomial curves in affine 4-space. In order to prove this result, under some arithmetic assumptions on generators of the defining ideal, we determine the minimal generators of their tangent cones by using the standard basis and check the Cohen-Macaulayness of them. Hybrid Surface Integral Equations for Optimal Analysis of Perfectly Conducting Bodies
Karaosmanoglu, Bariscan; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2015-07-24)
We consider hybrid formulations involving simultaneous applications of the electric-field integral equation (EFIE), the magnetic-field integral equation (MFIE), and the combined-field integral equation (CFIE) for the electromagnetic analysis of three-dimensional conductors with arbitrary geometries. By selecting EFIE, MFIE, and CFIE regions on a given object, and optimizing these regions in accordance with the simulation requirements, one can construct an optimal hybrid-field integral equation (HFIE) that p...
