A number of interactive methods that use convex cones for solving the discrete alternative multiple-criteria problem have appeared in the literature. Convex cones are used to identify inferior alternatives based on the previous responses of the decision-maker. The aim is to identify as many inferior alternatives as possible using the cones so that the decision-maker will be required to make as few pairwise comparisons as possible.

PARALLEL IMPLEMENTATION OF MLFMA FOR HOMOGENEOUS OBJECTS WITH VARIOUS MATERIAL PROPERTIES
Ergül, Özgür Salih (2011-01-01)
We present a parallel implementation of the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) for fast and accurate solutions of electromagnetics problems involving homogeneous objects with diverse material properties. Problems are formulated rigorously with the electric and magnetic current combined-field integral equation (JMCFIE) and solved iteratively using MLFMA parallelized with the hierarchical partitioning strategy. Accuracy and efficiency of the resulting implementation are demonstrated on canonical prob...
Combining perturbation theory and transformation electromagnetics for finite element solution of Helmholtz-type scattering problems
Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa (2014-10-01)
A numerical method is proposed for efficient solution of scattering from objects with weakly perturbed surfaces by combining the perturbation theory, transformation electro-magnetics and the finite element method. A transformation medium layer is designed over the smooth surface, and the material parameters of the medium are determined by means of a coordinate transformation that maps the smooth surface to the perturbed surface. The perturbed fields within the domain are computed by employing the material p...
On the reduction of Gaussian inverse Wishart mixtures
Granström, Karl; Orguner, Umut (2012-09-12)
This paper presents an algorithm for reduction of Gaussian inverse Wishart mixtures. Sums of an arbitrary number of mixture components are approximated with single components by analytically minimizing the Kullback-Leibler divergence. The Kullback-Leibler difference is used as a criterion for deciding whether or not two components should be merged, and a simple reduction algorithm is given. The reduction algorithm is tested in simulation examples in both one and two dimensions. The results presented in the ...
THEORY OF POLARIZED FLUORESCENCE FROM MOLECULAR PAIRS - FORSTER TRANSFER AT LARGE ELECTRONIC COUPLING
KNOX, RS; GULEN, D (Wiley, 1993-01-01)
Polarization properties of the fluorescence from a pair of identical molecules coupled electronically are examined on the basis of a stochastic Liouville equation formalism developed in 1979 by Rahman, Knox and Kenkre. The time development of polarization is calculated for random ensembles of rigid molecule pairs under initial conditions that represent either selective excitation or broad-band coherent excitation. We hold that the applicability of the Forster mechanism is not limited to cases of weak coupli...
Investigation of haptic manipulators with linear equations of motion
Kızılbey, Aras; Soylu, Reşit; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2019)
In this thesis, linearization of the equations of motion of haptic interfaces and the effects of such linearization on haptic applications are examined. Three and six DOF configurations of the Phantom Premium™ 1.5 have been selected as the haptic manipulators to be investigated. By utilizing the generic computer code that has been developed for hybrid manipulators composed of revolute and prismatic joints, the equations of motion for the aforementioned two haptic manipulator types are derived in symbolic fo...
