V+jets production at the CMS

2014
Bilin, Buğra
Measurements of Vector Boson production in association with jets are presented, using p-p collision data at √s = 7 TeV. The measurements presented include Z + jets azimuthal correlations, event shapes, vector boson + jets differential cross section measurements, hard double-parton scattering using W + jets events and electroweak Z + forward - backward jet production.

Measurement of the triple-differential cross section for photon plus jets production in proton-proton collisions at=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-06-01)
A measurement of the triple-differential cross section, , in photon + jets final states using a data sample from proton-proton collisions at = 7 TeV is presented. This sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.14 fb(-1) collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. Photons and jets are reconstructed within a pseudorapidity range of |eta| 30 GeV, respectively. The measurements are compared to theoretical predictions from the sherpa leading-order QCD Monte Carlo event generator and the next-to-leading-...
Measurement of associated W plus charm production in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2014-02-01)
Measurements are presented of the associated production of a W boson and a charm-quark jet (W + c) in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The analysis is conducted with a data sample corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 5 fb(-1), collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. W boson candidates are identified by their decay into a charged lepton (muon or electron) and a neutrino. The W + c measurements are performed for charm-quark jets in the kinematic region p(T)(jet) > 25 GeV, vert...
Jet production rates in association with W and Z bosons in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2012-01-01)
Measurements of jet production rates in association with W and Z bosons for jet transverse momenta above 30 GeV are reported, using a sample of proton-proton collision events recorded by CMS at root s = 7 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1). The study includes the measurement of the normalized inclusive rates of jets sigma(V+ >= n jets)/sigma(V), where V represents either a W or a Z. In addition, the ratio of W to Z cross sections and the W charge asymmetry as a function of the numbe...
Jet energy resolution in proton-proton collisions at root s 7 TeV recorded in 2010 with the ATLAS detector
Aad, G.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-03-01)
The measurement of the jet energy resolution is presented using data recorded with the ATLAS detector in proton-proton collisions at s√=7 TeV. The sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 35 pb−1. Jets are reconstructed from energy deposits measured by the calorimeters and calibrated using different jet calibration schemes. The jet energy resolution is measured with two different in situ methods which are found to be in agreement within uncertainties. The total uncertainties on these measurements r...
Jet energy scale and resolution in the CMS experiment in pp collisions at 8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (IOP Publishing, 2017-02-01)
Improved jet energy scale corrections, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, are presented. The corrections as a function of pseudorapidity eta and transverse momentum (pT) are extracted from data and simulated events combining several channels and methods. They account successively for the effects of pileup, uniformity of the detector response, and residual data-simulat...
