Nowadays, power electronics systems developed need small size, reliable, high quality and efficient switch mode power supplies. However, switch mode power supplies also require determining the operating parameters accurately for achieving intended energy conversion effectively and faultlessly. In this study, an interactive and object oriented parameter determination system was designed for Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost and Cuk converter topologies. Users have used the system interface easily through the interactivity of the system and the user requests have been accomplished quickly through the object oriented programming Accuracy and reliability of the system have been tested separately for each type of the converter and it has been shown that the performance in the process of determining the parameters of the system is effective and optimum.

Design of efficient and compact switch-mode power supplies (SMPS) is a popular topic in power electronics. Silicon has been used as semiconductor material of switches in DCDC converters for decades. However, preference of using GaN as semiconductor material of switches in these topologies has recently increased due to their superior properties. GaN FETs have lower gate capacitance, lower channel resistance, higher frequency operation, higher breakdown voltage and higher temperature operation than silicon MO...

Radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers (PAs) are the most crucial part for the development of high performance front-end RF and microwave systems. Power transistor is the key component of a power amplifier, which should be accurately modeled to provide good correlation between simulation and measurement results. Bare die transistor needs to be packaged, before attaching on printed circuit boards (PCBs) to provide protection, easy fabrication and prevent mechanical issues. In recent years, Gallium Nitride (Ga...

Wireless power transfer (WPT) has been a very popular research topic for a variety of applications with power ratings ranging from few watts to several kilowatts. High power levels are mostly used in electric vehicle charging applications whereas lower power level applications are mostly in household appliances, wearable devices and medical implants. Topology, geometries of the transferring and receiving coils and their relative positions are fundamental parts that affect performance of WPT systems. In WPT ...

Present day electrical equipment is rapidly becoming more and more sensitive to power quality problems, especially voltage sags. Various voltage sag correction devices are avaliable. This thesis analyzes a two-switch, single-phase electronic voltage regulator for correcting voltage sags. The theory of this voltage regulator has been investigated. An analytical method for sizing the energy storage capacitors has been established. The voltage regulator has been modeled and its steady-state and dynamic behavio...

Contention-free Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have higher energy efficiency and lower packet latency than contention-based ones due to reduced idling and allow efficient utilization of energy supplies of sensors. This paper presents evaluation the performance of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) dutycycled MAC for multihop WSNs. We propose a semi-Markov chains by considering power consumption in different operational models to analyze the Quality of Services (Qo...
