The first experimental results for the coherent pi(0) electroproduction on a deuteron, e + d --> e + d + pi(0), at large momentum transfer, are reported. The experiment was performed at Jefferson Laboratory at an incident electron energy of 4.05 GeV. A large pion production yield has been observed in the kinematical region 1.1 < Q(2) < 1.8 GeV2, from the threshold to 200-MeV excitation energy in the dpi(0) system. The Q(2) dependence is compared with theoretical predictions. (C) 2003 MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica".

Observation of the decay B+ -> psi(2S)phi(1020)K+ in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2017-01-01)
The decay B+ -> psi(2S) phi(1020) K+ is observed for the first time using data collected from pp collisions at root S = 8 TeV by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.6 fb(-1). The branching fraction of this decay is measured, using the mode B+ -> psi(2S) K+ as normalization, to be (4.0 +/- 0.4 (stat)+/- 0.6 (syst)+/- 0.2 (B)) x 10(-6), where the third uncertainty is from the measured branching fraction of the normalization channel. Observation of gamma(1S) pair production in proton-proton collisions at root s=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2017-05-01)
Pair production of gamma(1S) mesons is observed at the LHC in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV by the CMS experiment in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb(-1). Both gamma(1S) candidates are fully reconstructed via their decays to mu(+) mu(-). The fiducial acceptance region is defined by an absolute gamma(1S) rapidity smaller than 2.0. The fiducial cross section for the production of gamma(1S) pairs, assuming that both mesons decay isotropically, is measured to be 68...
Observation of nuclear modifications in W-+/- boson production in pPb collisions at root s(NN)=8.16 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2020-01-01)
The production of W-+/- bosons is studied in proton-lead (pPb) collisions at a nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass energy of root s(NN) = 8.16 TeV. Measurements are performed in the W-+/- -> mu(+/-)nu(mu) channel using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 173.4 +/- 6.1 nb(-1), collected by the CMS Collaboration at the LHC. The number of positively and negatively charged W bosons is determined separately in the muon pseudorapidity region in the laboratory frame vertical bar eta(mu)(lab)verti...
Study of jet quenching with isolated-photon plus jet correlations in PbPb and pp collisions at root s(NN)=5.02 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2018-10-01)
Measurements of azimuthal angle and transverse momentum (p(T)) correlations of isolated photons and associated jets are reported for pp and PbPb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV. The data were recorded with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. For events containing a leading isolated photon with p(T)(gamma) > 40 GeV/c and an associated jet with p(T)(jet) > 30 GeV/c, the photon+jet azimuthal correlation and p(T) imbalance in PbPb collisions are studied as functions of collision centrality and p(T)(gamma). Th...
Observation of proton-tagged, central (semi)exclusive production of high-mass lepton pairs in pp collisions at 13 TeV with the CMS-TOTEM precision proton spectrometer
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-07-01)
The process pp -> pl(+)l(-)p(()*()), with l(+)l(-) a muon or an electron pair produced at midrapidity with mass larger than 110 GeV, has been observed for the first time at the LHC in pp collisions at root s = 13 TeV. One of the two scattered protons is measured in the CMS-TOTEM precision proton spectrometer (CT-PPS), which operated for the first time in 2016. The second proton either remains intact or is excited and then dissociates into a low-mass state p*, which is undetected. The measurement is based on...
