sigma-meson and omega-rho mixing effects in omega ->pi(+)pi(-)gamma decay
Gokalp, A; Kucukarslan, A; Solmaz, S; Yılmaz, Osman (2003-08-01)
We calculate the branching ratio of omega --> pi(+)pi(-)gamma decay in a phenomenological framework in which the contributions of VMD, chiral loops, sigma-meson intermediate state amplitudes and the effects of omega-rho mixing axe considered. We conclude that the sigma-meson intermediate state amplitude-and omega-rho mixing make substantial contribution to the branching ratio.
gamma-Gruneisen relations close to lambda-phase transitions in NH4Cl
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (1996-08-01)
In this study we have correlated the frequency shifts of the acoustic modes to the volume changes by means of our gamma-Gruneisen relations near the lambda-phase transitions in NH4Cl. Using the acoustic frequencies and the length-change data for NH4Cl from the literature, we first calculated the Gruneisen gamma values for the LA modes along the (100) and (110) directions and for the TA mode along the (110) direction. We then predicted the acoustic mode frequencies across the lambda-phase transitions in NH4Cl.
omega-meson photoproduction on nucleons in the near-threshold region
Babacan, H; Babacan, T; Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2002-03-01)
The omega-meson photoproduction, gamma + p --> p + omega, is studied in the framework of a model, containing pi-meson exchange in t-channel and nucleon-exchange in s- and u-channels. Considering both omegaNN, coupling constants in the region of time-like meson four-momenta as the free parameters, we find different sets of solutions for these constants from the existing data on the l-dependence of the differential cross-sections, dsigma(gamma + p --> p + omega)/dl, in the near-threshold region Egamma less th...

Au-8 cluster adsorption on Si(100):2 x 1 asymmetric surface studied by a first principles calculation
Akturk, Olcay Uzengi; Tomak, Mehmet (Elsevier BV, 2010-04-02)
In this work, we investigate the adsorption of Au-8 cluster onto H-terminated Si(100):2 x 1 asymmetric surface by density functional theory within local density and generalized gradient approximations. We study the site-dependent shape of Au-8 cluster, adsorption energies, band structures and the corresponding charge distribution. We show that the electronic properties of the cluster and substrate complex change with the location of the cluster on the surface.
