The Effect of Stiffness and Loading Deviations in a Nonlinear Isolator Having Quasi Zero Stiffness and Geometrically Nonlinear Damping
DÖNMEZ, ATA; Ciğeroğlu, Ender; Özgen, Gökhan Osman (2017-11-09)
Static deflections due to static loadings limit the isolation performance of linear vibration isolation systems. Therefore, quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) mechanisms, i.e. nonlinear isolators with high static and low dynamic stiffness characteristic, are used to decrease the natural frequency of the isolation structure and improve the isolation performance of the system while having the same loading capacity. However, the resulting system is highly nonlinear and unstable solutions may as well occur. Although in...

The effect of Phase I sample size on the run length performance of control charts for autocorrelated data
Köksal, Gülser; Ula, Taylan Ali; Testik, Murat Caner (Informa UK Limited, 2008-01-01)
Traditional control charts assume independence of observations obtained from the monitored process. However, if the observations are autocorrelated, these charts often do not perform as intended by the design requirements. Recently, several control charts have been proposed to deal with autocorrelated observations. The residual chart, modified Shewhart chart, EWMAST chart, and ARMA chart are such charts widely used for monitoring the occurrence of assignable causes in a process when the process exhibits inh...
The effect of periodicity distance in electric field direction on the resonance frequency by using equivalent circuit model and simulation
YAŞARÖRTEN, Pınar; Sayan, Gönül (2015-07-24)
In this study, the effect of the periodicity distance in electric field direction on the resonance frequency of a Split Ring Resonator (SRR) unit cell is examined using both HFSS and two-port equivalent circuit model. In HFSS simulations, perfect electric conductor (PEC) and perfect magnetic conductor (PMC) type boundary conditions are used at the surfaces perpendicular to electric and magnetic field, respectively. The resonance frequency for each periodicity distance in E-field direction is calculated usin...
The effect of film thickness, Se/S ratio and annealing temperature on the nonlinear absorption behaviors in amorphous GaSexS1-x (0 <= x <= 1) thin films

The amorphous GaSexS1-x (0 <= x <= 1) semiconductor thin films were prepared with different thickness by using vacuum evaporation technique. The nonlinear absorption properties of the films were studied by Z-scan and ultrafast pump-probe techniques. Linear absorption measurements showed blue shift in energy as the film thickness increased. This can be attributed quantum confinement effect due to particle size decreasing with increasing film thickness. Pure GaSe and GaSexS1-x films exhibit saturable absorpti...
