In Situ Spectroelectrochemical Study of Positively and Negatively Charged States in a Donor/Acceptor EDOT/Benzotriazole‐Based Polymer
Meana-Esteban, Beatriz; Balan, Abidin; Baran, Derya; Neugebauer, Helmut; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Sariciftci, Niyazi Serdar (2011-11-15)
Positively and negatively charged states in cPBEBT, which consists of EDOT/benzotriazole/EDOT as the building block, are studied using CV, in situ UV-Vis, and FTIR-ATR spectroscopy. The results show that cPBEBT is an ambipolar D-A-type polymer capable of conducting both holes and electrons. The injected positive and negative charges are distributed over the whole polymer backbone, which is proven by in situ FTIR-ATR where spectral signatures associated with the benzotriazole unit are observed in both p- and...
In situ and downstream sulfidation reactivity of PbO and ZnO during pyrolysis and hydrogenation of a high-sulfur lignite
KANCA, Arzu; Üner, Deniz (Elsevier BV, 2019-07-12)
Economical valorization of low quality, high sulfur feedstocks is an important challenge. Most of the valorization processes start from pyrolysis, with a significant amount of evolution of sulfur containing compounds. This study addresses in situ and downstream sulfur capture ability of lead oxide (PbO) in comparison to zinc oxide (ZnO) during the pyrolysis of high-sulfur Tuncbilek lignite. In order to assess the role of hydrogen in sulfur capture, hydrogenation experiments were also performed. Sulfidation ...
In situ-generated PVP-stabilized palladium(0) nanocluster catalyst in hydrogen generation from the methanolysis of ammonia-borane
Erdogan, Huriye; Metin, Oender; Özkar, Saim (2009-01-01)
Herein, we report the in situ generation of poly(N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone) (PVP)-stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters and their catalytic activity in hydrogen generation from the methanolysis of ammonia-borane (AB). The PVP-stabilized palladium(0) nanoclusters with an average particle size of 3.2 +/- 0.5 nm were formed from the reduction of palladium(II) acetylacetonate during the methanolysis of AB in the presence of PVP at room temperature. The palladium(0) nanoclusters are highly stable in solution for exte...
In situ DRIFTS characterization of wet-impregnated and sol-gel Pd/TiO 2 for NO reduction with CH4
Karakaş, Gürkan; Ozkan, Umit S. (Elsevier BV, 2002-05-01)
The adsorption/desorption behavior of 2%Pd/TiO2 catalysts synthesized by wet-impregnation and modified sol–gel techniques were examined in NO–CH4–O2 reaction using in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS). The catalyst prepared by the modified sol–gel method showed significantly higher resistance toward oxygen while maintaining a 100% NO conversion. Under NO+CH4+O2 flow, the main adsorbed NO species was identified as the linearly adsorbed NO on metallic palladium (Pd0–NO)...
In situ silver nanoparticle synthesis on 3D-printed polylactic acid scaffolds for biomedical applications
ÇALAMAK, SEMİH; Ermiş Şen, Menekşe (2021-02-01)
An ultraviolet (UV) irradiation-based in situ silver nanoparticle (AgNP) synthesis approach has drawn significant attention for functionalizing a great variety of biomaterials. Here, we designed an AgNP-functionalized 3D-printed polylactic acid (PLA) composite scaffold with a green physical approach by employing the UV irradiation (1, 2, and 3 h) method without using any reducing agent or heat treatments. In situ AgNP synthesis was performed under different UV exposure times. The zeta sizer analysis results...
