A Hybrid Trailing Edge Control Surface Capable of Camber and Decamber Morphing
İlhan Ozan, Tunçöz; Yosheph, Yang; Gürses, Ercan; Şahin, Melin; Özgen, Serkan; Yaman, Yavuz (2015-06-03)
This study presents the design and analysis of a novel hybrid trailing edge control surface that is capable to perform both camber and decamber morphing. The design was conducted with CATIA V5-6R2012 package program. Structural analyses were performed with Finite Element Method by using ANSYS® Workbench™ v14.0 package program both in in-vacuo condition and under aerodynamic loading. The aerodynamic loads were calculated by Computational Fluid Dynamics analyses. The required aerodynamic mesh was generated by...

A composite pulsating controller for achieving high-performance positioning
Tufekci, C. S.; Craig, K. C. (SAGE Publications, 2012-02-01)
A non-linear robust control algorithm called a composite pulsating controller (CPC), which attains high-performance positioning specifications, is presented. The CPC is designed specifically for real product applications that have certain limitations such as friction, motor sizing, amplifier saturation, computational power and like. The CPC is composed of a bang-bang controller, a nominal proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller, a high-gain PID controller and a pulsating controller in accomplishin...
A Hybrid Antenna Element for Travelling Wave Dual-Plane Monopulse Slotted Waveguide Arrays
Gültepe, Gökhan; Doğan, Doğanay; Aydın Çivi, Hatice Özlem (2018-12-10)
A novel antenna element for low loss and low-profile dual-plane monopulse arrays is proposed. The travelling wave array has both sum and difference distributions in azimuth. The designed element is the unit cell of an interleaved slotted waveguide array feeding wideband printed antennas via probes inserted into waveguides from the slots. The use of printed antennas enhances the narrow sidelobe and efficiency bandwidth of the closely-spaced slotted waveguide arrays by up to 20%. The unit cells are modelled a...
A hybrid flotation-gravity circuit for improved metal recovery
Klein, B; Altun, Naci Emre; Ghaffari, H; McLeavy, M (2010-04-28)
The performance of a novel hybrid flotation-gravity concentration circuit was evaluated in which a Knelson Continuous Variable Discharge (CVD) separator was used as a scavenger for flotation tailings. Flotation tailings from the Eskay Creek Gold Mine were used for the study. Batch and pilot scale laboratory tests and plant trials were performed. Results of the batch and pilot tests showed that a product with a small yield (<5%), a high upgrade ratio and significant Au (sulphide mineral) recovery could be ac...
