3d modeling of on-chip acoustophoretic particle manipulation in a polymer microfluidic device
Çaǧatay, E.; Özer, Mehmet Bülent; Çetin, B. (2016-01-01)
This study focuses on understanding of the sensitivities of the acoustophoretic process on uncertainties/errors in the geometric properties of the chip material and the piezoelectric actuators. The sensitivity of the acoustophoretic process is investigated both numerically and experimentally. For the numerical simulations a three dimensional finite element model is used. In the experimental analysis, a microfluidic chip with two stations is used. The first station has the accurate geometric values of the de...
3D printing of polymeric tissue engineering scaffolds using open-source fused deposition modeling
Alagoz, Ayse Selcen; Hasırcı, Vasıf Nejat (2020-08-01)
Open-source printing is a field where the cost of printing additive manufacturing products is cheaper due to more economical software and parts to construct a product including those of tissue engineering scaffolds. In this manuscript, fused deposition modeling (FDM) is used as the main avenue of open-source use in 3D printing of tissue engineering scaffolds. Additive manufacturing enables the researchers to build 3D products with interior and exterior architectures precisely defined and produced using open...
3D Numerical simulation of nonenergetic reactive armor
Saeidi, Farid; Kurt, Mert Can; Gürses, Ercan; Çöker, Demirkan (null; 2015-09-12)
Non-energetic reactive armors also called bulging armors are known for their effectiveness against shaped charges. These composite structures consist of two metal plates and an intermediate non-metallic layer. Soft materials like rubber or polymers are often preferred for the intermediate layer. In this paper, interaction of shaped charge jet with bulging armor is studied and the eects of material parameters of the intermediate layer are investigated by using 3d numerical simulations.

3D modeling of salt related structures in the friesland platform the Netherlands
Yücel, Kıvanç; Kaymakcı, Nuretdin; Özacar, Atilla Arda; Department of Geological Engineering (2010)
Southern North Sea Basin is one of the mature hydrocarbon basins in NW Europe and is shaped by a number of phases of tectonic deformations during the Phanerozoic. In addition, mobilization and halokinesis of thick Permian Zechstein Salt has enhanced and contributed to the deformation of the region since Triassic, which further complicated the geology of the region. The Friesland Platform, which is a stable platform area located in northern Netherlands, experienced the main deformation phases that Europe has...
