Nafion/titanium silicon oxide nanocomposite membranes for PEM fuel cells
DEVRİM, YILSER; Erkan, Serdar; BAÇ, NURCAN; Eroğlu, İnci (2013-04-01)
In the present study, Nafion/Titanium Silicon Oxide (TiSiO4) nanocomposite membranes were prepared by recasting method for proton exchange membrane fuel cells. The composite membrane containing 10wt% TiSiO4 had a membrane thickness of 80 mu m. The membrane was characterized by thermogravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). SEM and XRD results have proven the uniform and homogeneous distribution of TiSiO4 in Nafion, and consequently, the crystalline character of ...
NaBt can regulate the expression of COX-2 post-transcriptionally in the presence of chemically induced stress in colon epithelial cells.
Banerjee, Sreeparna; Gurbanov, Sinem Tunçer; Ülgen, Dogukan Hazar; Torun, Aydan (null; 2018-04-19)
Sodium butyrate (NaBt) is a histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACi) produced in the colon by commensal microbiota-mediated fermentation of dietary fibers. It is regarded to have tumor suppressive and anti-inflammatory effects. NaBt can regulate gene expression through chromatin remodeling and altered transcription. However, it has not been addressed adequately whether inflammatory genes may also be regulated by NaBt in a post transcriptional manner via AU rich elements (ARE) in their 3'UTR. Overexpression of ...
Nafion Coated Mg50Ni50 and (La,Mg)2Ni7 Negative Electrodes for NiMH Batteries
Eyovge, Cavit; Öztürk, Tayfur (2018-01-01)
A study is carried out to develop a surface modified Mg based alloy with an improved discharge capacity that would be durable in alkaline environment. For this purpose, Mg50Ni50 alloy is synthesized via ball milling of elemental powders and tested electrochemically in both bare and nafion coated form. The study shows that the bare electrode yields an acceptable discharge capacity but subject to a fast capacity decay. Nafion coating is effective in reducing the capacity decay where the discharge capacity aft...

Nafion-Incorporated Silicate Structured Nanocomposite Mesoporous Catalysts for Dimethyl Ether Synthesis
Ciftci, Aysegul; Sezgi, Naime Aslı; Doğu, Timur (2010-08-04)
Being chemically and thermally stable, Nation resin is considered to be an attractive solid acid catalyst. Although it has high acid strength and the ability to catalyze a wide range of reactions, the catalytic activity of Nation is limited, because of its very low specific surface area. In this study, mesoporous Nafion-silica nanocomposites were developed by following a one-pot acidic hydrothermal synthesis procedure. Synthesized catalysts were determined to have well-dispersed structures with high surface...
