High speed tooltip FRF predictions of arbitrary tool-holder combinations based on operational spindle identification
Postel, M.; Özşahin, Orkun; Altintas, Y. (Elsevier BV, 2018-06-01)
The chatter vibrations in milling are avoided by selecting spindle speeds and depth of cuts from the stability lobes. However, it has been well observed that the structural dynamics of the spindle system change as a function of speed and even feed. As a result, the measurement of spindle structure's Frequency Response Function (FRF) at zero speed does not lead to an accurate prediction of stability lobes, hence the productive cutting conditions cannot be estimated accurately. In this study, an in-process id...
High sensitivity and multifunctional micro-Hall sensors fabricated using InAlSb/InAsSb/InAlSb heterostructures
BANDO, M; OHASHİ, T; Dede, M.; Akram, R.; Oral, Ahmet; Park, S. Y.; SHİBASAKİ, I; HANDA, H; SANDHU, A (AIP Publishing, 2009-04-01)
Further diversification of Hall sensor technology requires development of materials with high electron mobility and an ultrathin conducting layer very close to the material's surface. Here, we describe the magnetoresistive properties of micro-Hall devices fabricated using InAlSb/InAsSb/InAlSb heterostructures where electrical conduction was confined to a 30 nm-InAsSb two-dimensional electron gas layer. The 300 K electron mobility and sheet carrier concentration were 36 500 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) and 2.5 x 10(11)...
High Performance IP Lookup on FPGA with Combined Length-Infix Pipelined Search
Yang, Yi-Hua E.; Erdem, Oguzhan; Prasanna, Viktor K. (2011-05-03)
We propose a combined length-infix pipelined search (CLIPS) architecture for high-performance IP lookup on FPGA. By performing binary search in prefix length, CLIPS can find the longest prefix match in (log L - c) phases, where L is the IP address length (32 for IPv4) and c > 0 is a small design constant (c = 2 in our prototype design). Each CLIPS phase matches one or more input infixes of the same length against a regular data structure. Various CLIPS phases can be optimized individually: (1) 16 bits of th...
