Extended scattering delay networks incorporating arbitrarily shaped rooms and edge diffraction
Pekçetin, Serkan; Hacıhabiboğlu, Hüseyin; Department of Modeling and Simulation (2016)
In order to achieve immersion in computer games, room acoustics models are often employed. Due to highly computational cost involved in full-scale room simulation, artificial reverberators are commonly used. Scattering Delay Network is such a reverberator that can run at interactive rates. The reverberator relies on geometrical acoustics to render first-order reflections correctly while it offers a convincing approximation in higher order reflections. The original model was exclusively proposed for shoebox ...
Exploring deep spatio-temporal fusion architectures towards late temporal modeling of human action recognition
Kalafoğlu, Muhammet Esat; Alatan, Aydın; Kalkan, Sinan; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2020-8)
Visual action recognition (AR) is the problem of identifying the labels of activities that occur in a video. In this thesis, different spatio-temporal representations are analyzed and the factors making these representations better suited for AR are determined. To be specific, three main concepts are analyzed in this thesis study which are the effects of different architectural selections, the input modalities (RGB, optical flow, human pose), and temporal modeling concepts. Additionally, the joint utiliza...
Beyond nPDFs effects : Prompt J/psi and psi(2S) production in pPb and pp collisions
Oh, Geonhee; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2019-02-01)
A multi-dimensional analysis of prompt charmonia in pp and pPb collisions at root s(NN) = 5.02 TeV with the CMS detector is presented. The pPb differential cross-sections of prompt J/psi are shown in a wide kinematic region, for transverse momentum p(T) spanning from 2 to 30 GeV/c and a rapidity interval between -2.4 to 1.93 in the center of mass of the collision. The final results on prompt psi/(2S) meson production cross section in pp and pPb collisions at 5.02 TeV are also reported as a function of p(T) ...

Combined search for supersymmetry with photons in proton-proton collisions at root s=13 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2020-02-01)
A combination of four searches for new physics involving signatures with at least one photon and large missing transverse momentum, motivated by generalized models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry (SUSY) breaking, is presented. All searches make use of proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV, which were recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC in 2016, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1). Signatures with at least one photon and large missing transverse momentum are categorized ...
