The thermoluminescent properties of lithium triborate (LiB3O5) activated by aluminium
Depci, Tolga; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Yılmaz, Ayşen; YAZICI, AHMET NECMEDDİN (2008-03-01)
In this paper, the thermoluminescence (TL) dosimetric characteristics of Al-doped LiB3O5 compounds are presented. The powder samples were prepared by the solid-state reaction method and the formation of the compounds were confirmed by an X-ray diffraction study. The TL studies of undoped and Al-doped LiB3O5 samples showed similar glow curve structures. They have three TL glow peaks at about 60, 130 and 200 degrees C after heating at a constant heating rate of 1 degrees C/s. Their comparative TL studies indi...

The mechanical properties of intact and traumatized epidural catheters
Ates, Y; Yucesoy, CA; Unlu, MA; Saygin, B; Akkas, N (Ovid Technologies (Wolters Kluwer Health), 2000-02-01)
Comparative data on the mechanical properties of epidural catheters used clinically are not available. We performed a controlled laboratory investigation to assess the mechanical performance of three different intact or traumatized catheter types (Polyurethane, clear nylon, and radiopaque nylon catheters, designed for 18-gauge Tuohy needles). We studied a control (intact) and two trauma groups (needle bevel and surgical blade). Catheters were loaded to their breaking points by using a Lloyd LS500 material t...

The mechanical and electronic properties of spinel oxides VX2O4 (X = Mn and Fe) by first principle calculations
Ylldlz, Bugra; Erkişi, Aytaç; Sürücü, Gökhan (2019-11-25)
© 2019 Author(s).We have performed first-principles density functional theory calculations within generalized-gradient approximation to obtain the mechanical properties and the electronic behavior of Vanadium based Spinel Oxides VX2O4 (X=Mn and Fe) which conform Fm-3m space group with 225 space number and are promising good candidates for spintronic applications due to their half-metallic band gaps (Eg=1.71 eV for VFe2O4 and Eg = 0.53 eV for VMn2O4) in the plotted spin-polarized electronic band structure. A...
