Homoconjugated push-pull chromophores were obtained by an efficient, click-type formal [2+2] cycloaddition. With these short synthetic transformations, complex chromophore structures were achieved in a single step without any by-product formation. Significant second-order optical nonlinearities have been calculated for the synthesized compounds.

Generalized nonbinary sequences with perfect autocorrelation, flexible alphabets and new periods
BOZTAŞ, Serdar; Özbudak, Ferruh; TEKİN, Eda (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2018-05-01)
We extend the parameters and generalize existing constructions of perfect autocorrelation sequences over complex alphabets. In particular, we address the PSK+ constellation (Boztas and Udaya 2010) and present an extended number theoretic criterion which is sufficient for the existence of the new sequences with perfect autocorrelation. These sequences are shown to exist for nonprime alphabets and more general lengths in comparison to existing designs. The new perfect autocorrelation sequences provide novel a...

Investigation of novel topological indices and their applications in organic chemistry
Gümüş, Selçuk; Türker, Burhan Lemi; Department of Chemistry (2009)
Numerical descriptors, beginning with Wiener, and then named topological indices by Hosoya, have gained gradually increasing importance along with other descriptors for use in QSAR and QSPR studies. Being able to estimate the physical or chemical properties of a yet nonexistent substance as close as possible is very important due to huge consumption of time and money upon direct synthesis. In addition, one may face safety problem as in the case of explosives. There have been almost hundred topological indic...
CHAINS OF THEORIES AND COMPANIONABILITY
Kasal, Ozcan; Pierce, David (2015-11-01)
The theory of fields that are equipped with a countably infinite family of commuting derivations is not companionable, but if the axiom is added whereby the characteristic of the fields is zero, then the resulting theory is companionable. Each of these two theories is the union of a chain of companionable theories. In the case of characteristic 0, the model-companions of the theories in the chain form another chain, whose union is therefore the model-companion of the union of the original chain. However, in...
Value sets of Lattes maps over finite fields
Küçüksakallı, Ömer (Elsevier BV, 2014-10-01)
We give an alternative computation of the value sets of Dickson polynomials over finite fields by using a singular cubic curve. Our method is not only simpler but also it can be generalized to the non-singular elliptic case. We determine the value sets of Lattes maps over finite fields which are rational functions induced by isogenies of elliptic curves with complex multiplication.
