Design of a two layer aperture-coupled unequal power divider
Kilic, Ozgehan; Demir, Şimşek (2010-12-20)
A four-port, aperture-coupled, unequal power divider is presented. The power ratio modification is fulfilled by the utilization of the defected ground structure (DGS). Effects of the changing defect length on the power distribution are presented. The power efficiency examination is also carried out. The simulation results show that at 10 GHz, the proposed device can supply varying port powers with a reflection loss better than 22 dB. © 2010 IEEE.
Design of a wide band metasurface as a linear to circular polarization converter
ALTINTAŞ, OLCAY; ÜNAL, EMİN; AKGÖL, OĞUZHAN; KARAASLAN, MUHARREM; KARADAĞ, FARUK; Sabah, Cumali (2017-10-30)
In this paper, we present a wide band metasurface (MS) polarization converter which converts a linearly polarized signal to a right-handed or left-handed circularly polarized signal both numerically and experimentally. The unit cell of MS has three nested rectangular resonators which have two metallic patches at its crossed corners. The simulated and measured results are achieved by a commercial full wave EM simulator and a vector network analyzer with two horn antennas in microwave frequency regime. The S-...
Design of an X-band 3-bit RF MEMS constant phase shifter
Kuzubaşlı, Ahmet; Akın, Tayfun; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2016)
This thesis presents a 3-bit 180° constant phase shifter design implementing Co-Planar Waveguide (CPW) and RF MEMS variable capacitors with ±1.8% accuracy at 10 GHz and ±5.8% maximum peak error between 9-11 GHz. The phase shifter with minimum phase errors is determined by considering exemplary circuit simulations of different phase shifter types designed with a novel in-house RF MEMS fabrication process [1] parameters. Due to its wide-band characteristics and CPW compatibility, the selected topology is the ...
Design of a Re-configurable dual frequency microstrip antenna with integrated RF MEMS switches
Onat, Sinon; Ünlü, Mehmet; Alatan, Lale; Demir, Şimşek; Akın, Tayfun (2005-07-08)
The complete design of a re-configurable dual frequency antenna structure, including its integrated RF MEMS switches and their actuation lines together with a CPW feed, is introduced. The number of switches used in the inset is decreased compared to the hybrid design we presented previously (Onat, S. et al., IEEE Int. Antennas and Propag. Symp., vol.2, p.1812-15, 2004). Instead of utilizing available RF MEMS switches, new switches suitable for this application are designed. Two different switch configuratio...
DESIGN OF A LOW-SPEED AXISYMMETRICAL WIND-TUNNEL CONTRACTION
Albayrak, Kahraman (1991-02-01)
Most three-dimensional contraction designs are based on the expansion of the Stokes stream function in a series in terms of the distance in the longitudinal direction and the radial distance from the axis of contraction. This method of design requires selection of a suitable function for the variation of velocity along the axis of the contraction. In this work the velocity variation along the axis of the contraction is selected such that the velocity increases gradually in the upstream direction and conve...
