Pyrolysis mass spectrometry analysis of electrochemically grafted polyacrylonitrile with thiophene
Oguz, Gulcan; Hacaloğlu, Jale; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar (2005-10-01)
In this work, structural and thermal analyses of a polythiophene/polyacrylonitrile (PTh/PAN) sample, prepared by electrochemical polymerization of thiophene onto a poly(acrylonitrile) coated anode, have been performed by a direct insertion probe pyrolysis mass spectrometry technique. The evolution profiles of PTh based products from PTh/PAN showed nearly identical trends with those recorded during the pyrolysis of pure PTh. However, when PAN based products were considered, contrary to the trends observed fo...
Thermal analysis of a new thiophene derivative and its copolymer
Aslan, E.; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2008-06-01)
Thermal characteristics of a new thiophene derivative, 2-(thiophen-3-yl-)ethyl octanoate (OTE), its homopolymer (POTE), and copolymer with thiophene P(OTE-co-Th) were investigated via pyrolysis mass spectrometry. Thermal degradation of the copolymer started by lose of side chains and thiophene involving products evolved almost in the same temperature range where PTh degradation was detected, at slightly higher temperatures than PTh backbone decomposed during the pyrolysis of POTE. The extent of doping and n...

Monoarsacyclacenes-PM3 treatment
Türker, Burhan Lemi (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2000-03-01)
Monoarsacyclacenes of P- and F-types having 3 similar to 8 arenoid rings were considered for PM3 type semiempirical molecular orbital calculations. These, yet nonexistent structures, were expected to be endothermic but stable molecules exhibiting no cryptoannulenic effect.
