This theses analyzes Cuk converter, that is one of the dc to dc switchıng converters. For continuous inductor current mode and discontinuous inductor current mode, stedy state operation is analysied. Characteristic parameters are determined. Through State Space Averge Models, Small Signal Models are obtained. Parasitic Resistance effects on steady state and small signal models are determined. Efficency of the switching converter is derived. Open loop transfer functions for continous and discontinuous inductor curret mode are obtained. Parmeters for small signal behaviour is determined and stability is analysied. Parasitic resistance effects on transfer functions is determined. Therotecial analysis are verified with a simulations of designed converter.

Performance Enhancement of the Single-Phase Series Active Filter by Employing the Load Voltage Waveform Reconstruction and Line Current Sampling Delay Reduction Methods
Senturk, Osman S.; Hava, Ahmet Masum (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2011-08-01)
This paper proposes the waveform reconstruction method (WRM), which is utilized in the single-phase series active filter's (SAF's) control algorithm, in order to extract the load harmonic voltage component of voltage harmonic type single-phase diode rectifier loads. Employing WRM and the line current sampling delay reduction method, a single-phase SAF compensated system provides higher harmonic isolation performance and higher stability margins compared to the system using conventional synchronous-reference...
Unity power factor boost converter with phase shifted parallel IGBT operation for medium power applications
Cadirci, I; Yafavi, A; Ermiş, Muammer (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2002-05-01)
Phase-shifted parallel (PSP) operation of IGBTs is proposed for unity pf boost converters, to increase both the converter power rating and operating frequency. This technique allows unity pf operation of medium power AC and DC motor drives, and switch mode power supplies from a single-phase, unregulated AC supply, with minimum line current harmonic distortion. Since operating frequency is increased by integer multiples of IGBT switching frequency, the same core size for the boost inductor can be used to tra...
Design and implementation of variable frequency sine wave output buck-boost inverter
Şener, Yunus; Ertan, Hulusi Bülent; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2016)
Conventional inverters have pulse-width-modulated output with a fundamental component at the desired frequency and magnitude. These converters are usually buck type and therefore the DC link voltage limits the maximum 3-phase output voltage magnitude. As a consequence, in motor drive applications field weakening is essential after a certain frequency of operation, as it becomes impossible to preserve the rated flux level. In renewable energy applications similar problems arise. When the DC link voltage fall...
Active clamped ZVS forward converter with soft-switched synchronous rectifier for high efficiency, low output voltage applications
Acik, A; Cadirci, I (Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), 2003-03-01)
The analysis, design, and implementation of an active clamped ZVS forward converter equipped with a soft-switched synchronous rectifier (ACFC-SR), proposed for high-efficiency low output voltage DC-DC converter applications, is presented. The converter efficiency is maximised due to soft switching of the main, active clamp, synchronous rectifier, and freewheeling MOSFET switches. The operating principles of the ACFC-SR are analysed in detail, and the converter performance is compared with that of alternativ...
Design, implementation, and control of a twostage ac/dc isolated power supply with high input power factor and high efficiency
Kaya, Mehmet Can; Hava, Ahmet Masum; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2008)
In this thesis a two-stage AC/DC/DC power converter is designed and implemented. The AC/DC input stage of the converter consists of the twophase interleaved boost topology employing the average current mode control principle. The output stage consists of a zero voltage switching phase shifted full bridge (ZVSPSFB) DC/DC converter. For the input stage, main design goals are obtaining high input power factor, low input current distortion, and well regulated output dc voltage, and obtaining these attributes in...
