In this study, ZrP2O7 was synthesized by the solid state reaction of ZrO2 and NH4H2PO4 at 900 degrees C. Then, in set 1; 10, 5, 1, 0.5, 0.1, 0.05, 0.03% previously prepared Sr2P2O7 were doped into ZrP2O7, and Sr2P2O7 slightly affect the unit cell parameter of cubic ZrP2O7 (a = 8.248(6)-8.233(8) angstrom). The reverse of this process was also applied to Sr2P2O7 system (set 2). ZrP2O7 changes the unit cell parameters of orthorhombic Sr2P2O7 in between a = 8.909(5)-8.877(5) angstrom, b = 13.163(3)-13.12(1) angstrom, and c = 5.403(2)-5.386(4) angstrom. Analysis of the vibrations of the P2O74- ion and approximate band assignments for IR and Raman spectra are also reported in this work. Some coincidences in infrared and Raman spectra both sets were found and strong P-O-P bands were observed. Surface morphology, EDX analysis, and thermoluminescence properties of both sets were given the first time in this paper.

Solid State Polymerization of N-vinylcaprolactam via Gamma Irradiation and Characterization
Usanmaz, Ali; Ozdemir, Tonguc; Polat, Özlem (Informa UK Limited, 2009-01-01)
In this study, N-vinylcaprolactam was polymerized via gamma irradiation in the solid state. The polymerization was carried out at room temperature both under vacuum and open to atmosphere. The polymerization mechanism showed auto acceleration and the rate of polymerization was higher in the presence of oxygen. Complete conversion was obtained under vacuum conditions and 90% conversion was obtained in the case of polymerization open to atmosphere. The polymers were characterized by FTIR, NMR, DSC, TGA, GPC, ...
Modulation of magnetism and study of impedance and alternating current conductivity of Zn0.4Ni0.6Fe2O4 spinel ferrite
Amor, S. B.; Benali, A.; Bejar, M.; Dhahri, E.; Khirouni, K.; Valente, M. A.; Graca, M. P. F.; Al-Turjman, F.; Rodriguez, J.; Radwan, A. (2019-05-15)
A spinel ferrite sample Zn0.4Ni0.6Fe2O4 was prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction method at high temperature. This compound was found to exhibit a single phase and crystallize in a cubic structure with Pm3 m Space group. The complex impedance was investigated in the temperature range 400-700 K and in the frequency range 100 Hz - 1 MHz. The Z-impedance analysis revealed that the relaxation phenomenon is strongly dependent on temperature and frequency. The impedance plane plot showed semi-circle arc...
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) study of Palm Kernel Stearin: Effects of cooling rate on crystallization behaviour
Okur, İlhami; Özel, Barış; Akbaş, Derya; İDE, SEMRA; Alpas, Hami; Öztop, Halil Mecit (2022-02-01)
In this study, effects of different cooling rates (0.5,3.3,4.7 and 6.9 degrees C/min) on the crystallization behavior of palm-kernel-stearin (PKS) were studied by low-field NMR relaxometry. According to results, solid fat content (SFC), longitudinal relaxation time (T1), second moment (M2) and degree of crystallinity (%) of the samples increased with increase in cooling rate from 0.5 to 6.9 degrees C/min. In contrast, transverse relaxation time (T2) demonstrated an opposite behavior with respect to T1 and d...
AB initio modelling of materials proper ties for catalytic and device applications
Şensoy, Mehmet Gökhan; Toffoli, Hande; Toffoli, Daniele; Department of Physics (2017)
The first-principles computations based on density functional theory is used to study the adsorption properties and the activation of CO, CO2 and H2O on gamma-Al2O3(100) surface. A systematic study has been conducted to identify the most stable adsorption sites for both mono- and di-atomic Pt clusters. Several stable adsorption geometries have been identified for the species as well as introduces their interaction with Pt clusters and the support. In this context, analysis of the adsorption properties allow...
Raman Spectroscopy Investigation of Nano Hydroxyapatite Doped with Yttrium and Fluoride Ions
Yilmaz, Bengi; Evis, Zafer (Informa UK Limited, 2014-01-02)
In this study, nano hydroxyapatite doped with yttrium (2.5, 5, and 7.5mol%) and fluoride (2.5mol%) ions were synthesized by precipitation method and sintered at 900 degrees C, 1100 degrees C, and 1300 degrees C. Raman spectroscopy was applied to track the structural modifications in pure and doped hydroxyapatites. The results showed that the main characteristic band of pure hydroxyapatite at 963cm(-1) was not affected significantly by ion doping but exhibited higher intensity with increasing sintering tempe...
