Characteristic features of thermoluminescence in neodymium-doped gallium sulfide
Güler, Işıkhan; Ahmedova, F.; Guseinov, A.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2018-06-01)
The thermoluminescence (TL) of neodymium-doped gallium sulfide (GaS:Nd) single crystals was measured from 10 K to room temperature with various heating rates between 0.2 and 1.0 K/sec. Two peaks centered at 70.9 K and 116.0 K were observed when using a heating rate of 0.8 K/sec. Initial rise and curve fitting methods were used to obtain information on trap activation energies. Activation energies of 94 and 216 meV were found for two analyzable peaks. The heating rate dependencies of TL intensities revealed ...
Unusual temporal variations in the spatial distribution of chlorophyll-a in the Black Sea during 1990-1996
Yılmaz, Ayşen; Vedernikov, VI; Moncheva, S; Bologa, AS; Cociasu, A; Ediger, D (1997-06-19)
The chlorophyll-a data set established by Turkey, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria and Romania was evaluated for the 1990-1996 period and only the surface chlorophyll-a was evaluated and interpreted for different parts of the Black Sea. Three well defined chlorophyll-a maxima were observed in the surface waters in the shelf region: a winter maximum in January-February, a spring-early summer one in May-June and an autumn peak in September-November. One of the expected results was the high level of chlorophyll-a con...
Characteristic features of an ionization system with semiconducting cathode
SALAMOV, BAKHTİYAR; ALTINDAL, ŞEMSETTİN; ÖZER, METİN; Colakoglu, K; Bulur, Enver (EDP Sciences, 1998-06-01)
The characteristic features of a de discharge genera.ted between parallel plate electrodes and especially the discharge stabilization by the GaAs semiconducting cathode in such a system are studied. The cathode was irradiated on the back-side with IR light in a particular wavelength range that was used to control the photoconductivity of the material. The semiconductor material was found to stabilize the discharge. The current-voltage and radiation-voltage characteristics of the gas discharge cell with a se...
Distinct patterns of sedimentary phosphorus fractionation and mobilization in the seafloor of the Black Sea, Marmara Sea and Mediterranean Sea
Akçay, İsmail; Yücel, Mustafa (2023-03-10)
Phosphorus (P) is a key element to all life that is used for structural and functional component of all organisms. The cycling of sedimentary P may differ depending on the redox-conditions of the overlying waters affecting the dynamics, and distribution of P-fractions and the elements that are highly coupled to P cycle. Though biogeochemistry of water column in the three interconnected marine basins of Black, Marmara and Mediterranean Seas have been studied extensively, few studies were carried out to under...
Distinctive role of region-specific institutions in regional entrepreneurship patterns: evidence from turkish regions
DEMİRDAĞ, İsmail; Eraydın, Ayda (2022-04-01)
There are substantial differences in the entrepreneurship levels of different regions. Recent studies have shown that supply- and demand-side determinants fall short of explaining the level and type of entrepreneurship of a region, and have emphasized the critical role of region-specific institutional factors in regional entrepreneurship. This paper aims to contribute to understanding how region-specific institutions encourage or inhibit regional innovative entrepreneurship, concentrating particularly on th...
