Polarized IR reflection and Raman scattering spectra have been studied in solid solutions based on TlSe structural type chain single crystals. The results of processing the IR spectra of mixed crystals are analyzed from the standpoint of a random-element-isodisplacements (REI) model extended to the case of many oscillators. In the case of the formation of mixed cells in solid solutions, respective modes have been observed in IR reflection and Raman scattering spectra.

Specific features of the optical spectra in Tl2In2S3Se layered single crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı; Güler, Işıkhan (2007-06-01)
The optical properties of Tl2In2S3Se layered single crystals have been studied by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 450-1100 nm. The analysis of the absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with energy band gaps of 2.16 and 2.42 eV, respectively. The observed coexistence of indirect and direct energy band gaps is related to the anisotropy of the TI-containing layered crystals. The dispersion of the refractive index is di...
Dispersive optical constants of Tl2InGaSe4 single crystals
Qasrawi, A. F.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2007-09-01)
The structural and optical properties of Bridgman method grown Tl2InGaSe4 crystals have been investigated by means of room temperature x-ray diffraction, and transmittance and reflectance spectral analysis, respectively. The x-ray diffraction technique has shown that Tl2InGaSe4 is a single phase crystal of a monoclinic unit cell that exhibits the lattice parameters of a = 0.77244 nm, b = 0.64945 nm, c = 0.92205 nm and beta = 95.03 degrees . The optical data have revealed an indirect allowed transition band ...
Optoelectronic properties of Tl3InSe4 single crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Informa UK Limited, 2010-01-01)
The crystal structure, temperature-dependent electrical conductivity, Hall coefficient, current-voltage characteristics, absorption spectra and temperature- and illumination-dependent photoconductivity of Tl3InSe4 single crystals were investigated. Tl3InSe4 crystallises in a body-centred lattice with tetragonal symmetry and belongs to the space group [image omitted]. The crystals are extrinsic p-type semiconductors and exhibit a conductivity conversion from p- to n-type at a critical temperature, Tc, of 283...
Numerical solution of buoyancy MHD flow with magnetic potential
Pekmen, B.; Tezer, Münevver (2014-04-01)
In this study, dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) is applied for solving the unsteady flow of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting fluid in channels under the effect of an externally applied magnetic field and buoyancy force. Magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations are coupled with the energy equation due to the heat transfer by means of the Boussinessq approximation. Then, the 20 non-dimensional full MHD equations in terms of stream function, temperature, magnetic potential, curren...
Dispersive optical constants and temperature tuned band gap energy of Tl2InGaS4 layered crystals
Goksen, K.; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Ozkan, H. (IOP Publishing, 2007-06-27)
The optical properties of Tl2InGaS4 layered single crystals have been studied by means of transmission and reflection measurements in the wavelength range of 400-1100 nm. The analysis of the room temperature absorption data revealed the presence of both optical indirect and direct transitions with band gap energies of 2.35 and 2.54 eV, respectively. Transmission measurements carried out in the temperature range of 10-300 K revealed that the rate of change of the indirect band gap with temperature is gamma =...
