A series of Cr-doped ZnO micro-rod arrays were fabricated by a spray pyrolysis method. X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples showed that the undoped and Cr-doped ZnO microrods exhibit hexagonal crystal structure. Surface morphology analysis of the samples has revealed that pure ZnO sample has a hexagonal microrod morphology. From X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies, the Cr 2p3/2 binding energy is found to be 577.3 eV indicating that the electron binding energy of the Cr in ZnO is almost the same as the binding energy of Cr3+ states in Cr2O3. The optical band gap E-g decreases slightly from 3.26 to 3.15 eV with the increase of actual Cr molar fraction from x = 0.00 to 0.046 in ZnO. Photoluminescence studies at 10 K show that the incorporation of chromium leads to a relative increase of deep level band intensity. It was also observed that Cr doped samples clearly showed ferromagnetic behavior; however, 2.5 at.% Cr doped ZnO showed remnant magnetization higher than that of 1.1 at.% and 4.6 at.% Cr doped samples, while 4.6 at.% Cr doped ZnO samples had a coercive field higher than the other dopings.

Thermal evolution of structure and photocatalytic activity in polymer microsphere templated TiO2 microbowls
Altunöz Erdoğan, Deniz; Polat, Meryem; Garifullin, Ruslan; Guler, Mustafa O.; Ozensoy, Emrah (Elsevier BV, 2014-07-30)
Polystyrene cross-linked divinyl benzene (PS-co-DVB) microspheres were used as an organic template in order to synthesize photocatalytic TiO2 microspheres and microbowls. Photocatalytic activity of the microbowl surfaces were demonstrated both in the gas phase via photocatalytic NO(g) oxidation by O-2(g) as well as in the liquid phase via Rhodamine B degradation. Thermal degradation mechanism of the polymer template and its direct influence on the TiO2 crystal structure, surface morphology, composition, spe...
Assessing effects of (3-aminopropyl) trimethoxysilane self-assembled layers on surface characteristics of organosilane-grafted moisture-crosslinked polyethylene substrate: A comparative study between chemical vapor deposition and plasma-facilitated in situ grafting methods
Sarkari, Navid Mostofi; Doğan, Öznur; Bat, Erhan; Mohseni, Mohsen; Ebrahimi, Morteza (Elsevier BV, 2019-12-15)
Silane coupling agents can act as bonding intermediates at the interface of two dissimilar materials by altering surface properties. In this study, (3-aminopropyl) trimethoxysilane (APTMS) was used as a silane precursor for vapor-phase deposition on organosilane-grafted moisture-crosslinked polyethylene (Si-XLPE) substrate. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and plasma-facilitated in situ grafting methods (grafting-from and grafting-onto) were employed to graft APTMS, and the consequent effects on surface of S...
Structural, optical and magnetic properties of Zn1-xCoxO thin films prepared by spray pyrolysis
BACAKSIZ, EMİN; AKSU, SERHAT; Basol, B. M.; Altunbas, M.; Parlak, Mehmet; Yamnaz, E. (Elsevier BV, 2008-09-01)
A series of Co-doped ZnO films were fabricated by a spray pyrolysis method. The X-ray diffraction patterns of the films showed that the undoped and Co-doped ZnO films exhibit wurtzite crystal structure. Surface morphology of the films obtained by scanning electron microscopy reveals that pure ZnO film has the hexagonal shaped microrods. The introduction of Co content in the structure did not affect the surface morphology of the films significantly. Magnetic hysteresis loops were observed at room temperature...
Structural and optical properties of thermally annealed thallium indium disulfide thin films
Guler, I; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Elsevier BV, 2020-06-30)
Structural and optical properties of thallium indium disulfide (TlInS2) thin films, deposited by thermal evaporation technique and thermally annealed at different temperatures, were analyzed. Crystallite size, dislocation density and lattice strain of the thin films were found from X-ray diffraction experiments. The atomic compositions of the films were determined from energy dispersive spectroscopy analysis. Surface morphology of the films was analyzed using atomic force microscopy. From room temperature t...
Structural characterization of polycrystalline Ag-In-Se thin films deposited by e-beam technique
Colakoglu, T.; Parlak, Mehmet (Elsevier BV, 2008-01-15)
The Ag-In-Se thin films were deposited by e-beam evaporation of the Ag3In5Se9 single crystal powder under high vacuum without intentional doping. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA) showed the decreasing behavior of Se and Ag in the structure depending on the annealing. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed that as-grown films have amorphous structure while annealing the films under nitrogen environment at 200 degrees C transformed from the amorphous to polycrystalline structure. The crystallinity of ...
