Measurement of t(t)over-bar production with additional jet activity, including b quark jets, in the dilepton decay channel using pp collisions at root s=8TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2016-07-01)
Jet multiplicity distributions in top quark pair (t (t) over bar) events are measured in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with the CMS detector at the LHC using a data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The measurement is performed in the dilepton decay channels (e(+)e(-), mu(+)mu(-), and e(+/-)mu(+/-)). The absolute and normalized differential cross sections for t (t) over bar production are measured as a function of the jet multiplicity in the event for differen...

Performance based assessment of number of equivalent uniform cyclic stress scheme
Altıncı, Eray; Çetin, Kemal Önder; Department of Civil Engineering (2019)
Assessment of cyclic (seismic) response of soils is considered to be one of the most interesting research areas of geotechnical engineering. Cyclic loading-induced stresses cause accumulation of shear strains and generation of excess pore water pressure, which are accompanied by reduction in stiffness. In the most extreme cases, this process leads to soil liquefaction. As opposed to the random nature of earthquake waves, it is generally preferred to apply uniform loading cycles to undisturbed or reconstitut...
Thermal polymerization of bis(4-fluoro-2,6-dibromophenolato)bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex in solution and in solid state
Kisakurek, D; Akbas, M; Bilir, N (Wiley, 1998-02-01)
The synthesis of the bis(4-fluoro-2,6-dibromophenolato)bis(pyridine)copper(II) complex was achieved from aqueous solution, and its characterization was performed by means-of IR and CHN elemental analysis. Thermal polymerization of this complex was carried out in toluene and in solid state. The structural analysis of the polymers was performed with H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and FTIR analysis; the glass transition temperature was found to be at 160 degrees C. 4-Fluoro-2,6-dibromophenolate, with the non-chelating liga...
Enhancing electrochromic properties of polypyrrole by silsesquioxane nanocages
Ak, Metin; Gacal Özcan, Burçin; Kışkan, Barış; Yağcı, Yusuf; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2008-04-29)
A new monomer, octa(thiophenephenyl)silsesquioxane (OThiophenePS) was synthesized via click chemistry. The chemical structure of OThiophenePS was characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance (H-1 NMR) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopies. Electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole with OThiophenePS was performed resulting in polypyrrole-attached, polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OPS-PPy). The spectroelectrochemical studies show that the electrochromic properties of (OPS-PPy) are superior...
