Economical Evaluation of an Oil Field Reservoir
Kök, Mustafa Verşan (Informa UK Limited, 2011-01-01)
In this study, economical evaluation of an oil field reservoir was performed using software. The software used in this study consists of different sub-programs to determine recoverable oil, recovery factor, initial and final productions, production rates, and original oil and gas in place for different types of reservoirs. Recovery efficiency was found to be 29% for water drive and 4.78% for solution gas drive reservoirs. In decline curve analysis, initial and final production rates were obtained as 40 and ...
Economical seismic retrofitting of bridges in regions of low to moderate risk of seismic activity
Dicleli, Murat; Mokha, A; Zayas, V (2003-01-01)
The economical efficiency of friction pendulum bearings (FPB) for seismic retrofitting of typical Illinois bridges is studied. A typical bridge was carefully selected by Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for the purpose of this study. The seismic analysis of the bridge revealed that the bearings, and substructures of the bridge are vulnerable and need to be retrofitted. A conventional retrofitting strategy is developed for the bridge and the cost of retrofit is estimated. Next, the bridge is furt...
Effective flexural rigidities for ordinary reinforced concrete columns and beams
AVŞAR, ÖZGÜR; BAYHAN, BEYHAN; Yakut, Ahmet (Wiley, 2014-04-25)
Current effective flexural rigidities proposed for use in design and analyses of reinforced concrete structures have been examined. The level of accuracy in the estimation of section rigidity plays a very important role in determining realistic values for the structural stiffness and hence the seismic forces imposed. The most significant parameters influencing the effective rigidity, which reflects the effect of cracking as well as the theoretical yielding of reinforced concrete sections, have been determin...
