Investigation of the Ds1 structure via Bc to Ds1l(+)l(-)/nu(nu)over-bar transitions in QCD
Khosravi, R.; Azizi, K.; Ghanaatian, M.; Falahati, F. (IOP Publishing, 2009-09-01)
We investigate the structure of the D-s1(2460, 2536)(J(P) = 1(+)) mesons via analyzing the semileptonic B-c -> D(s1)l(+)l(-), l = tau, mu, e and B-c -> D-s1 nu(nu) over bar transitions in the framework of the three-point QCD sum rules. We consider the D-s1 meson in two ways, the pure vertical bar c (s) over bar > state and then as a mixture of two vertical bar P-3(1)> and vertical bar P-1(1)> states. Such types of rare transitions take place at loop level by electroweak penguin and weak box diagrams in the ...
Investigation of the effect of GPCR oligomerization on the GNAi1 protein homodimerization in live cells using FRET
Nalli, Enise; Son, Çağdaş Devrim; Küçük Baloğlu, Fatma; Department of Biotechnology (2022-1-26)
G-Protein Coupled Receptors (GPCR) are membrane proteins that pass the cell membrane seven times. In classical GPCR signaling pathways, one GPCR-one heterotrimeric G-protein interaction model is enough to transmit the signal to effector proteins. Studies since 2000 showed that one GPCR dimer-one heterotrimeric G-protein interaction model is more likely, and GPCRs having homo- /hetero- dimers interact with a single G⍺-protein. Recently, studies on GPCRs indicated that more than two receptors interact to ...
Investigation of the effects of plant phenolic oleuropein on expression levels of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes along with potential cytotoxic and genotoxic impact on human colon cancer cell line HT-29
Balkan, Ezgi; Adalı, Orhan; Koçyiğit, Abdurrahim; Department of Biochemistry (2018)
Colon cancer is one of the major health problems causing malignancies and is frequently encountered in developed western countries. Today, in the treatment of colon cancer, several methods are used, mostly with adverse effects. In order to reduce the consequences of side effects usage of natural or artificial anti-cancer molecules is a serious topic in the cancer research area. Scientists began to perform research to find anti-carcinogenic phytochemicals and xenobiotics with anti-carcinogenic potentials. Un...

Investigation of the effect of substituent on the growth of polymer for 3-substituted polythiophenes via pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Aslan, Evren; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2005-10-15)
In this study, direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry analyses of electrochemically polymerized poly(decanedioic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) and poly(terepthalic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) were per-formed to investigate structural and thermal characteristics. It was found that when the ester linkages contain hydrocarbon chains, the growth of polymer occurred through both 2- and 5-positions. On the other hand, when the ester linkages contain more rigid groups such as phenyl, steric hindran...
