Magnetic Fe3O4-chitosan micro- and nanoparticles for wastewater treatment
ŞAHBAZ, DENİZ AKIN; YAKAR, ARZU; Gündüz, Ufuk (2019-08-18)
In this study, first, magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) were synthesized using a coprecipitation method and the synthesized particles were characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), dynamic light scattering (DLS), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). According to DLS and VSM analyses results, it was seen that the size of the MNP was smaller than 10 nm and they exhibited superparamagnetic properties, respectively. Then, magnetic Fe3O4-chitosan micro/n...
Magnetic Half Generation PAMAM Dendrimeric Nanoparticles for Targeting Delivery of Gemcitabine
Maryam, Parsian; Mutlu, Pelin; Yalçın Azarkan, Serap; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Gündüz, Ufuk (2015-06-09)
Antitumor activity of Gemcitabine, a nucleoside analogue, has been reported in a variety of human tumors, including breast cancer in both experimental and clinical studies. Conventional chemotherapeutic agents are unspecifically distributed all over the body where they affect both cancerous and normal cells. They cause major systemic toxicities and drug resistance, which also restricts drugs therapeutic efficacy. Recent advances in nanotechnology have explored new targeting strategies for enhancing intra-tu...

Magnetic Properties and Cation Distribution of Bimetallic (Mn-Co) Doped NiFe2O4 Nanoparticles
Baykala, A.; Eryiğit, Sümeyra; Amir, Md; GÜNGÜNEŞ, HAKAN; Sozeri, H.; Shirsath, Sagar E.; Sertkol, M.; Asiri, Sarah M. (2017-11-01)
Nickel ferrite (NiFe2O4), an inverse spinel crystal structure and a soft transition metal oxide, contemplated as a good magnetic semiconducting material with low coercivity and saturation magnetization (M (s)). In this study, Ni1-2xMnxCoxFe2O4 (0.0 <= x <= 0.5) nanoparticles were synthesized by the microwave assisted approach with citric acid as fuel. The effect of both cobalt and manganese substitution on the morphological, structural, and magnetic properties of the NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were studied. X-ra...
Magnetic properties of multiband U=infinity Hubbard model on anisotropic triangular and rectangular lattice strips
CHERANOVSKII, VO; Esentürk, Okan; PAMUK, HO (1998-11-01)
We study the dependence of the ground state spin of a multiband Hubbard model with infinite electron repulsion on anisotropic triangular and rectangular lattice strips on the model parameters. Considering the results of numerical calculations for the exact spectra of finite triangular lattice strips at different values of hopping integrals, we show the existence of a type of magnetic transitions with the jump of the ground state spin between minimal and maximal values. This transition is found only for spec...
