ANALYSIS OF DIFFUSION AND SORPTION OF CHLORINATED HYDROCARBONS IN SOIL BY SINGLE-PELLET MOMENT TECHNIQUE
CABBAR, C; DOGU, G; Doğu, Timur; MCCOY, BJ; SMITH, JM (American Chemical Society (ACS), 1994-07-01)
The single-pellet moment technique was shown to be a powerful method for investigating the diffusion and adsorption of volatile hydrocarbons in the soil. The technique was used to evaluate effective diffusivities, adsorption equilibrium, and rate constants of chlorinated hydrocarbons (monochloroethane, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, and 1,1,2-trichloroethane). Results obtained in a dry system showed that adsorption rate constants of all these hydrocarbons on the soil pellet used are of the same ...
Analysis of Scattering from Perfect Electric Conducting Cylinders by Spectral Element Method
Mahariq, Ibrahim; ARPACI, İBRAHİM; Kuzuoğlu, Mustafa (2015-07-04)
In this paper, the governing frequency-domain equations for the scattered field from perfect electric conducting cylinders are solved by the spectral element method (SEM) for both circular and square cylinders. Domain truncation is performed by the perfectly matched layer in two dimensions.
Analysis of Sound Fields Inside Acoustically Structurally Coupled Enclosed Spaces based on Acoustic-elasticity

Analysis of stresses in spur gears by the photoelastic coating method
Celik, M; Bilir, OG (1999-07-01)
This study uses a photoelastic coating method in spur gear stress analysis, and verifications of the results are made with two-dimensional boundary element analysis. The principal advantage of the photoelastic coating method comes from the fact that it is a full-field technique capable of showing the entire stress distribution over the surface of a part and thus highlighting the regions where the stresses are the largest. The general results of experimental work in which spur gears are analyzed, both in tes...
