In this paper, numerical and experimental analyses of both dual band loop Quasi - Yagi Antenna and miniaturized virtual array of the same structure are studied. These both design operates at free band (2.4-2.48 GHz) and planned 5G mobile communication band (3.4-3.8 GHz). Here, by introducing the virtual array concept, comparison between single element and the array structure are done. Proposed design is validated by High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and also measurements for each antennas are carried out on fabricated prototype.

Numerical analysis of radio frequency inductively coupled ion thruster and computation of its performance parameters
Bozkurt, Erdal; Alemdaroğlu, Nafiz.; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2019)
The main goal of this thesis is geometric and parametric analysis of a simulated cylin-drical two-gridded Radio Frequency Inductively Coupled (RF-ICP) ion thruster. Inaddition, instrumental performance of this thruster and the effects of a fixed shapeof the electrodes on ion trajectories are investigated. The simulations of the plasmaand the ion optics are performed by using COMSOL Multiphysics software. The firststep is checking the reliability of the software. Radial and axial simulation parametricresults...
Synchronization of linearly and nonlinearly coupled harmonic oscillators
Penbegül, Ali Yetkin; Tuna, Sezai Emre; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2011)
In this thesis, the synchronization in the arrays of identical and non-identical coupled harmonic oscillators is studied. Both linear and nonlinear coupling is considered. The study consists of two main parts. The first part concentrates on theoretical analysis and the second part contains the simulation results. The first part begins with introducing the harmonic oscillators and the basics of synchronization. Then some theoretical aspects of synchronization of linearly and nonlinearly coupled harmonic osci...
Experimental performance evaluation of direction finding by amplitude comparison for GSM applications /
Karadağ, Savaş; Demir, Şimşek; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2014)
In this thesis, radio direction finding (DF) systems are examined, implementation and measurements for GSM mobile phones are done by using 6-element uniform circular Vivaldi antenna array and uniform circular monopole antenna array which is used asWatsonWatt antenna. Although degrading in performance of DF is expected, only one receiver unit is used in angle-of-arrival (AOA) to measure received signal strength (RSS) from each antenna elements to obtain low cost and small sized set-up. Moreover three di eren...
ELECTRICAL-IMPEDANCE TOMOGRAPHY OF TRANSLATIONALLY UNIFORM CYLINDRICAL OBJECTS WITH GENERAL CROSS-SECTIONAL BOUNDARIES
IDER, YZ; Gençer, Nevzat Güneri; ATALAR, E; TOSUN, H (1990-03-01)
An algorithm is developed for electrical impedance tomography (EIT) of finite cylinders with general cross-sectional boundaries and translationally uniform conductivity distributions. The electrodes for data collection are assumed to be placed around a crosssectional plane; therefore the axial variation of the boundary conditions and also the potential field are expanded in Fourier series. For each Fourier component a two-dimensional (2-D) partial differential equation is derived. Thus the 3-D forward probl...
Simulation of locating buried objects via fringe pattern-based measurements in an optical fiber sensor-integrated continuous-wave ground-penetrating radar system
ŞAHİN, ASAF BEHZAT; Bulur, Hatice Gonca (2015-01-01)
A new ground-penetrating radar system that can determine the depth and position of a buried metal cylinder, which is the combination of an optical fiber sensor (OFS), continuous-wave transmitter, and optical communication link, is proposed and simulated in the MATLAB and Optiwave program packages. Employing an optical sensor instead of a standard radio frequency (RF) receiver offers the advantage of preventing electromagnetic interference along the sensor's main unit cable and lower amplification noise. In ...
