Improved inspection of TFT LCD panels using on-demand automated optical inspection sub-system
Weiss, Adam; Saranlı, Afşar (Taiwan, 2006)
In an inspection system for electrical and electro-optical inspection of TFT-LCD panels, a fine resolution area imaging camera with a pulse illumination source disposed to scan the region and operative capture images of the region illuminated with pulses of short illumination and automatically maintained in focus while continuously scanning in order to resolve points of defects.
Improved testing of the magnetic-field integral equation
Ergül, Özgür Salih (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2005-10-01)
An improved implementation of the magnetic-field integral equation (MFIE) is presented in order to eliminate some of the restrictions on the testing integral due to the singularities. Galerkin solution of the MFIE by the method of moments employing piecewise linear Rao-Wilton-Glisson basis and testing functions on planar triangulations of arbitrary surfaces is considered. In addition to demonstrating the ability to sample the testing integrals on the singular edges, a key integral is rederived not only to o...
Improved SIFT matching for image pairs with scale difference
BAŞTANLAR, YALIN; Temizel, Alptekin; Yardimci, Y. (2010-03-04)
When directly applied to images with different scales, scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) matching performance decreases significantly. In this reported work, this phenomenon is demonstrated and a simple method to increase the performance of SIFT matching is proposed. The proposed method includes preprocessing the images before matching and is compared to previously proposed solutions which only eliminate false matches.
Improved Alignment of PEDOT:PSS Induced by in-situ Crystallization of "Green" Dimethylsulfone Molecules to Enhance the Polymer Thermoelectric Performance
Zhu, Qiang; Yıldırım, Erol; Wang, Xizu; Soo, Xiang Yun Debbie; Zheng, Yun; Tan, Teck Leong; Wu, Gang; Yang, Shuo-Wang; Xu, Jianwei (2019-11-01)
Dimethylsulfone (DMSO2), a small organic molecule, was observed to induce the alignment of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(4-styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) via in-situ crystallization in PEDOT:PSS mixture, which was verified by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). A chemically stable dopant, DMSO2, remarkably raised the electrical conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS film, which was fabricated from pre-mixed solution of PEDOT:PSS and ...
Improved performance of Bayesian solutions for inverse Electrocardiography using multiple information sources
Serinağaoğlu Doğrusöz, Yeşim; MACLEOD, Robert (2006-10-01)
The usual goal in inverse electrocardiography (ECG) is to reconstruct cardiac electrical sources from body surface potentials and a mathematical model that relates the sources to the measurements. Due to attenuation and smoothing that occurs in the thorax, the inverse ECG problem is ill-posed and imposition of a priori constraints is needed to combat this ill-posedness. When the problem is posed in terms of reconstructing heart surface potentials, solutions have not yet achieved clinical utility; limitation...
