Polymer light emitting diodes and organic solar cells towards ito free devices and high efficiency devices using electrochemically synthesized polymers /
Hızalan Özsoy, Gönül; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2017)
In this study, polymer based solar cells and polymer based light emitting diodes were constructed. In the third and fourth chapters of this study, effect of terminal units and effect of molecular weight on electroluminescence and photovoltaic properties were investigated. Triphenyl end capped polymer P1 based PLED shows luminance value of 10411cd/m2 at 8.5V whereas benzene end capped polymer P2 based PLED has the peak luminance value of 14583cd/m2 at 8V. P2 based photovoltaic devices exhibited superior perf...
Polymer white light emitting diodes applications of benzotriazole and fluorene derivatives
Koçak, Güler; Çırpan, Ali; Department of Chemistry (2015)
In this thesis, white polymer light emitting diodes (WPLEDs) were constructed using benzotriazole and fluorene containing conjugated polymers. For this purpose, three different blue and four different orange emitting conjugated polymers with different end cappers were used. The method that was used throughout the thesis included mixing of two polymers (blue and orange emitting) having different weight ratios in a common solvent. These solutions were coated on ITO-glass substrates by spin-coating technique w...

Polymer foaming with supercritical carbon dioxide
Novendra, Novendra; Dilek Hacıhabiboğlu, Çerağ; Hasırcı, Nesrin; Department of Chemical Engineering (2015)
High molecular weight semi crystalline poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) was processed with environmentally benign and non-toxic supercritical carbon dioxide with and without the addition of two different additives to form porous polymeric thin films for biomedical applications such as drug delivery. One of the additives was a CO2-philic additive, trifluoropropyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (TFPOSS), and the other was a non CO2-philic additive, octamethyl polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (OMPOSS). Eve...
Polymer-immobilized palladium supported on TiO2 (Pd-PVB-TiO2) as highly active and reusable catalyst for hydrogen generation from the hydrolysis of unstirred ammonia-borane solution
Rakap, Murat; Kalu, Egwu Eric; Özkar, Saim (Elsevier BV, 2011-01-01)
Herein we report the preparation, characterization and the catalytic use of the polymer-immobilized palladium catalyst supported on TiO2 (Pd-PVB-TiO2) in the hydrolysis of unstirred ammonia-borane solution. The polymer-immobilized palladium catalyst is stable enough to be isolated as solid materials and characterized by XRD, SM, and EDX. The immobilized palladium catalyst supported on TiO2 is found highly active, isolable, and reusable in the hydrolysis of unstirred ammonia-borane even at low concentrations...
